Significance, continued: among the most intact and best preserved. The pedimented window and door surrounds and the porch supports with molded capitals are particularly noteworthy. Its first owner was Thomas Wiley, a physician who came to McKinney from Alabama in 1866. Although Wiley built another home in the 18905, which was razed in the 1970s, he owned this house on S. Church St. until his death in the 1940s. City directories from various years in the 20th century reveal that it was a rent house.
