Renting the History Club Your rental allows use of the main floor, which includes: A 250 square foot furnished front parlor area A compact catering kitchen with refrigerator, range, microwave and sink A 1,500 square foot auditorium that can accommodate up to 80 persons for a sit down event with tables. For events without tables (i.e, seating only), the auditorium can accommodate approximately 200 persons. A stage located at the back of the auditorium Coat room Women s 2-stall restroom (2 fixture men s restroom downstairs) Use of a grand piano Use of 80 chairs (see picture), 4 rectangular tables and 5 round tables. Each table can accommodate 8 people. With the exception of the men s restroom, access to the lower level is not permitted. Renter is responsible for: Obtaining a liquor license through the City of Sioux Falls if alcohol is consumed (for sale is not permitted). This process can take 6 to 8 weeks. Understanding the basic building operation including turning on and off lights, operating the kitchen equipment (if used), and adjusting temperature of the water heater (if used). A representative with the history club will go through the building with you before the event. Bringing trash bags. It is the responsibility of the renter to dispose of all trash and recyclables at the end of the event. Making sure all lights are off when you leave. If the water heater was used, adjusting it back to the original position. Making sure any food brought for your event is taken with you. Leaving the building in the same condition as provided. Making sure the building is locked when leaving. Attached is a one-time rental agreement, building usage policy and information for obtaining a liquor license. The rental agreement will need to be filled out and signed by the renter and representative of the history club at least 2 weeks prior to the event. A security deposit of $250 is required at the time of booking. Please note: Parking is on-street only

The normal usage rate for the clubhouse is $100 an hour for the first two hours and $50 an hour thereafter. Payment is required 10 days prior to the event. The minimal rental is 2 hours. 2. Members of The History Club receive a 50 percent discount when using the building for their own social and non-commercial purposes. 3. Current club groups are not charged when using the building; free will offerings are acceptable and encouraged. 4. Renters will pay a $250 damage deposit, which is due when they sign the rental contract. The deposit will be deposited into The History Club account. The History Club will reimburse the damage deposit after an inspection determines that no damage has been sustained. 5. All parties requesting use of The History Club building will agree to the guidelines for usage as specified in the Building Use Agreement. February 2014

The History Club is responsible for snow removal, but only after any and all snowfall may have ended as required by City Ordinance. Should it be necessary, tenant will be responsible for snow removal from the sidewalk and walkways prior to its use of the building. 7. Tenant will indemnify The History Club for any damage to its real or personal property caused by Tenant and/or guests during its gathering. 8. If alcohol is served it is the responsibility of the tenant to obtain the necessary liquor license from the city. 9. The tenant agrees to follow all applicable city, state, and federal laws while using the club facilities, including but not limited to, the serving of alcohol. CONSUME, BUT NOT SELL EXPLANATION FEE SCHEDULING HOURS RESTRICTIONS PAPERWORK REQUIRED CONTACT WEBSITE If you wish to consume, but not sell, any type of alcoholic beverage, permission is required. There is no fee for this request. The deadline for such an item would be at 10 a.m. one week prior to a City Council meeting (the Council meets the first, second, and third Tuesdays of every month). Please call the City Clerk s Office at (605) 367-8080 for clarification on the exact date. Please allow at least three weeks to receive approval of your request. 7 a.m. 2 a.m., Monday through Sunday. You may consume or blend alcoholic beverages. No sales, in any form, must be made of the alcoholic beverages. The property must be publicly owned or owned by a nonprofit organization. Permission to consume, but not sell, cannot exceed 24 hours. No license application is required. However, a letter must be written requesting permission to consume, but not sell (see attached template).
