Includes notes from annual reports and data on costs and royalties of publications. Also includes letter of Stearns to Boyd C. Included are letters to and from the authors, communications of committed members with one another, comments of committee members on the various manuscripts and letters of rejection to the authors. Packard, Sidney S., 1945 Packard and Ray A. Billington on Billington's assemption of Fund Committee chairmanship. Also included in the correspondence are references to personal and family matters of the two men. Shafer, Boyd C., 1953-58 Largely correspondence of Shafer (Executive Secretary of the AHA) and Stearns on administrative matters especially the unsuccessful attempts to replenish the funds of the committee.
