CHS Autonomous Programs The Faculty of Engineering of Cairo University (CUFE) currently offers the following Bachelor Degrees based on the credit-hours system (CHS) of education: 1. Electrical Engineering: Communication and Computer Engineering- CCE 2. Civil Engineering: Construction Engineering and Management - CEM 3. Civil Engineering: Structural Engineering - STE 4. Civil Engineering: Water Engineering and Environment - WEE 5. Architectural Engineering and Technology AET (2007) 6. Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering - PPC 7. Mechanical Engineering: Mechanical Design Engineering - MDE 8. Electrical Energy Engineering - EEE 9. Civil Infrastructure Engineering- CIE 10. Health Care Engineering & Management- HEM Form the Supreme Committee for the conduct of programs of credit hours and would be responsible for policy formulation INTERDISCIPLINARY and adoption of the reports executive and administrative decisions SPECIALIZED of the system software of credit hours, and play the role of the scientific council for these programs, and for her to make use of those who see the need for the use of its professors specialists. Constitute an executive committee composed of the general coordinator of programs and program coordinators and would be responsible for the daily monitoring of the system software of credit hours for undergraduates. Since the initiation of the programs of the Credit Hours System (CHS), they are directly administrated by the faculty dean and not by the scientific departments. That procedure was necessary to guarantee the success of the experiment and build the new programs matrix on recent principles which was essential as soon as the new programs are specialized and different of 2-semester-programs which are administrated directly by the scientific departments.

2 0 5 AET gives students a sound understanding of building design, building construction and 1 sustainable technology. The program highlights the need for building designers to be environmentally responsible and technically competent and fuses these with architectural design and the professional aspects of the construction industry.
WHY AET? PROFESSION PARADIGM CHANGE The Goal is to: Train the students to examine the art of architecture and the science and technology of engineering within a multidisciplinary field that integrates architecture, engineering, technology, environmental studies and management of people and physical resources.
