Gomez St. cor J.P. Rizal St., San Roque, Marikina City. The building where it is located at the moment had been the site of the old Marikina Municipal Hall and the place has its historical and Cultural importance to Marikenos. Our beloved Mayor was inspired by our continuous advocacy on the heritage conservation that it has become also his vision to create the long-lost history of Marikina to be recreated thru the development of a Heritage Zone. After the said meeting, we have a follow up meeting last October 9, 2018 at Kapitan Moy Tourisms office. Items also discussed was the approved old ordinances for the heritage zone for which it has not yet fully implemented, the lot plan and tax declaration of the site, ownership of the lot and the building, the setbacks and parking requirements, the re-routing & flow of traffic and the overall impact of setting up a tourist attraction site. At first, the city hall staffs offer another building location for the Red Cross and the proposed 4 sty building will be solely occupied by the tourism offices. Everyone okays with that until Mayor Marcelino Teodoro came at the meeting and voiced his concerns for the operation of the red Cross. He instructed us to make a schematic design of Red Cross with Tourism Information Center Building to blend in the heritage zone using new and alternative materials and finishes that would last. Also, the establishing of the site includes other existing building to facelift, making path walks for the tourism walking tour and souvenir shops for the tourist.
