Later censuses show her with a birth year of 1879 but this must be an error. The month and day are from the family bible. The month agrees with the 1900 census. I have been told that her Mother kept her alive by putting her in the oven to keep her warm. Ruth was a kind and thoughtful person who loved collecting trinkets and reading movie magazines. She worked for the Celanese in Cumberland. She was married twice, her first marriage was to Dick Joyce, a pilot, who also worked for Celanese. They were divorced and she married Otis D. Wilkins and they moved to the Baltimore area. She retired for disabilities from Reid-Avery Co. in 1971 after working there as a wire operator for 14 years. She was a member of the Dundalk Church of the Brethren. She was married to Otis for 33 years. Generation 4 8. HAROLD ELSWORTH 4 BISHOP (John Sherman 3, Joshua 2, James 1 ) was born on 25 May 1904 in Cumberland, Allegany, Maryland, USA. He died on 30 Sep 1979 in St Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida, USA. He married Minnie Bridges, daughter of Frank Bridges and Eda Sommerlatt on 01 Dec 1926 in Oakland, MD. She was born on 01 Dec 1908 in Barrelsville, MD. Notes for Harold Elsworth Bishop: Information from Barbara Bishop Rogers & Harold Bishop III: Harold's nick name was Benny. He worked for a time for the B&O Railroad. He worked in the instrument department of the Celanese Plant until 1950. Benny and his brothers gathered at Shaws after work. His son Bob remembers his Dad bringing a hamberger just for him from Shaws. Another memory was when his Dad came home with a something wrapped in his coat, it turned out to be a puppy, Scrappy, which lived until Bob's junior year in college. The family moved to Keyser, WV where he became an Instrumentation foreman at the Luke Plant of West Virginia Pulp and Paper Mill which later became Westvaco. He was also a watch repairman and this hobby continued even after their move to Florida. He worked at Westvaco for nineteen years until his retirement as an engineering technician in 1969. He and his wife Minnie moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. He was a member of The United Brethren Church of Keyser and was a

He was a Thirty-third degree Mason and a member of the Ali Ghan Shrine Temple and belonged to the Instrument Society of America. He remained in Florida until his death in 1979. Harold Elsworth Bishop and Minnie Bridges had the following children: i. HAROLD ELSWORTH 5 BISHOP JR was born on 01 Aug 1928 in Cumberland, Allegany, Maryland, USA.
