He was born December 19, 1915 near Corwin, Kansas to I. Frank Cox and Millie (Clark) Cox. Educated and raised in Harper County attending Sonneyvale Schools. He married Ruby Kloefkorn, March 5, 1936. She preceded him in death, November 15, 1988. He worked around Cedar Vale as a ranch hand and cowboy at the Bill House Ranch. He attended the Church of Christ in Cedar Vale. He is survived by: Son, Lee: Daughter, Marcilyn Auman; Daughter in Law, Maradean Phinney; Brothers, Delmar & Frank,Jr.; Sister, Eileen Warrington; 11 grandchildren and 20 great Grand Children. He was preceded in death by 2 sons: Jimmie & Verdie; Daughter Chloe Dean Jalo; Grandson, Kent Jalo; 2 brothers Jared & Marlin; sister, Gladys Faulkner. A memorial has been established with the Cedar Vale Historical Museum. Cox was born Dec. 19, 1915, near Attica, to J. Frank and Millie (Clark) Cox. He attended Attica schools. On March 5, 1936, he married Ruby Kloefkorn. She died Nov. 15, 1988. Cox was employed at the Bill House ranch and attended the Church of Christ. Just a couple of months or so after we moved to town, Sarah brought Mike and Gary over and dumped them off so Mother had her hands full with trying to get everything settled and take care of a three year old and a one year old. That summer Chloe Dean would walk over (they lived just up the street where Burke Lennington now has his auto repair shop) and help with the boys. My mother's health wasn't very good so she was a big help. She was pregnant with Clark and by the end of summer almost didn't have a lap to rock Gary to sleep. He was then born on December 10, 1962. If he had been born Dec 1963, as is listed, that would have made him only 4 months older than Kent, April, 1964.
