M1 MO M1/DTW is a nationally recognized, multi-discipinary studio operating at the intersection of design and cultural production. M1/DTW s built work include a recording studio for grammy-winning musician Eminem, boutique retail spaces for 6 salon, studios for DAVO Photographic, and a workspace for Richard Florida s Martin Prosperity Institute in Toronto. M1/DTW s print and identity work include projects for Sensitile, Creative Class Group, 6 salon, SUNY Architecture, Cranbrook, Pasadena Museum of California Art, and the University of Kentucky College of Design (UK/COD). M1/DTW has received numerous award s, including I.D. Magazine s Annual Design Review and a 50 Books award from the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) for the Diller+Scofidio/Eames book. In 2007, 6 salon was named best salon design in North America. He is a Lecturer in architecture at the UM Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, where his teaching focuses on visual communication and interdisciplinary design methodologies. Unverzagt received his Bachelor of Science (in architecture) from the University of Michigan and his M.Arch with distinction from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles. He also studied at the California Institute of the Arts (Cal-Arts) and at The Bartlett, University College London. Unverzagt lives and works in Detroit.
