National Trust Cottages Access Statement Cottage Ref: 011073 New Lodge Trelissick Feock TRURO Cornwall Introduction New Lodge cottage is a Victorian, stone built, detached Gate house situated on the (nonpublic) entrance to the main carriageway to Trelissick House. It has close woodland to the south and far reaching rural views to the north. As well as numerous walks from the cottage the King Harry car ferry, which is just down the road, can be used to go over to the Roseland peninsular. The Cottage is arranged as follows: Ground Floor: Porch, Lounge, Dining room, Kitchen, rear lobby and an inner hall (washing machine in outbuilding). First Floor: Single Bedroom, Double Bedroom and a Bathroom. Pre-Arrival See the main webpage for booking and location details. Arrival & Parking Facilities Trelissick Garden, being open to the public, is very well signposted with the usual Brown Tourist road signs. The cottage is situated just inside the first Trelissick estate entrance, which is 600metres before the public, garden entrance. The cottage car parking area is a concrete hard standing, on the left immediately past the cottage don t park too close to the garden railings (the gate opens outwards!) Getting in (and out) of the cottage From the car parking area there is a metal gateway (940mm W), opening outwards, in the side railings. This opens to stone chipping pathway which leads to the gateway to the back courtyard and continues along to the front door. This pathway also goes to another metal gateway on the front edge of the railings. On arrival, go through the solid wooden gate (1,040mm W), down two (180mm H) granite steps, to the rear garden area and into the rear lobby (the outer back door will be unlocked).the combination key safe for the door is on the wall, inside the rear lobby, to the left of the door. There is an outside light but it is recommended to bring a torch to set the correct lock combination on arrival. Keys to be returned to safe on final departure. Page 2 of 12

There are two (130mm H) granite steps up to front door which is 840mm wide and opens inwards. Getting around the cottage Ground floor: Front door opens into small porch with solid, wooden door into lounge. Two solid doors in lounge. One to kitchen and other to inner hall. Kitchen has one solid back door to rear lobby and then a further solid, exterior, door to rear courtyard garden. Inner hall has solid door to dining room and stairway to first floor landing. First floor: Turning stairway from inner hall to landing with three solid, wooden doors. One door to double bedroom, one to single and other to bathroom. All open inwards. Page 3 of 12

The only occasional vehicles will be to your distant neighbours, occupants of Old Lodge NT holiday cottage and visitors to the Copeland family, who still occupy Trelissick House.
