Marlboro County School District REQUEST FOR BIDS RFB-16/17-4 MCHS Cooling Tower Parts & Installation
Purpose: The purpose for this Request for Bids is to secure a contractor to provide equipment and repair the cooling tower at Marlboro County High School (MCHS). This project consists of replacing two Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) fan motors and one OEM interlocking magnetic starter for the cooling tower fans. Background: MCHS is located at 951 Fayetteville Ave. Extension, Bennettsville, SC and the Baltimore Air Coil Cooling Tower was originally installed 1989. It is a 480 volts/3 phase tower. The model # is FXV-642 and the serial number is U070169201. Site Visit: Please contact Mr. Ashley Bowen, Maintenance Director, for a site visit at 843-862-4326. Scope of Work: Contractor to remove two old fan motors and install new motors: 1-25 HP OEM fan motor 1-5 HP OEM fan motor Motors shall be sealed and water resistant. Contractor will also remove and replace OEM interlocking magnetic starter and wires. All parts shall be OEM or equivalent parts made specifically for this cooling tower. The contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials and equipment necessary to accomplish this project. The services provided by the contractor will be in compliance with all relevant Federal, State and local laws. Evaluation Criteria: Marlboro County School District is looking for one company to provide all of the services listed above. Marlboro County School District reserves the right to reject any and all responses, and to waive any irregularities of information in the evaluation process. The final decision is the sole decision of Marlboro County School District and the respondents to the RFB have no appeal rights or procedures guaranteed to them. Bids should be thorough yet concise. Bids are to be prepared at your own expense. Marlboro County School District reserves the right to use any and all ideas included in any response without incurring any obligations to the responding company or committing to procurement of the proposed services. Should the Marlboro County School District and the first firm selected fail to negotiate mutually acceptable fees for service, The Marlboro County School District shall abandon negotiations with the first firm and initiate negotiations with other firms in rank order, however The Marlboro County School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids if deemed to be in the best interest of The Marlboro County School District. INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful contractor must furnish within ten (10) days after written acceptance of bid a copy of his Worker s Compensation and/or General Liability insurance certificate to the District. Worker s Compensation coverage shall meet the requirements of South Carolina law. It is agreed that the coverage, as stated, shall not be cancelled or altered until ten (10) days after written notice of any change has been sent by registered mail to the Purchasing Department of Marlboro County School District.
