Hovnanian Companies Equity Residential Properties CetraRuddy Geotechnical Site/Civil Environmental Traffic & Transportation Landscape Architecture Langan provided a full range of design and engineering services for the construction of two 48-story residential towers at the core of Jersey City's Colgate Waterfront Redevelopment Area. This joint venture development features retail space 900 luxury residential units and a rooftop garden on top of a 10-story parking deck.
ONE JOURNAL SQUARE Jersey City NJ Kushner Companies Woods Bagot Geotechnical Site/Civil Traffic & Transportation Surveying/Geospatial Langan is providing geotechnical site/civil and traffic engineering planning and surveying services for a proposed mixed-use development in the Journal Square section of Jersey City. The development will consist of two high-rise towers measuring 46 and 69 stories over a 10-floor podium and will include 1 725 residential apartments approximately 89 000 SF of retail 127 000 SF of office space and 78 000 SF of amenities space. The development is adjacent to the Journal Square PATH Station.
30 JOURNAL SQUARE Jersey City NJ Kushner Companies Morris Adjmi Architects Site/Civil Traffic & Transportation Natural Resources & Permitting Traditional Surveying Langan is providing site/civil and traffic engineering planning and surveying services for a proposed mixed-use development at 30 Journal Square in Jersey City. The 1 022 362-GSF development will incorporate the historic Jersey Journal building and consist of a 72-story residential tower with a 10-story podium with space for retail office and parking.
HUDSON EXCHANGE WEST Jersey City NJ Forest City Enterprises Perkins Eastman WSP (Phase IA) McNamara Salvia Structural Engineers (Phase 1B) Geotechnical Hudson Exchange West is an 18-acre neighborhood development project that will introduce new residential buildings outdoor park areas transportation access and retail amenities to the downtown waterfront community of Jersey City. Langan is providing geotechnical engineering services during the design development and construction development phases. Our scope of work includes a site specific seismic study site coordination subsurface investigation geotechnical engineering report and construction controlled inspections for the deep foundation installation and load tests.
WASHINGTON FIRST PLAZA Jersey City NJ The Athena Group LLC SLCE Architects Landscape Architecture Site/Civil Environmental Geotechnical Langan provided landscape site/civil engineering and urban design services for the residential redevelopment on a brownfield site in downtown Jersey City. The project features a linear urban park streetscape and a roof terrace in conjunction with a 33-story multi-use tower. A common materials palette of brick granite and steel is utilized throughout the project that lends a Lower Manhattan ambiance to the designed spaces.
ONE57 New York NY Extell Development Company Christian de Portzamparc SLCE Architects Geotechnical Site/Civil Environmental One57 stands at 1 005 feet (306 meters) tall and consists of a 5-star 210 room Park Hyatt Hotel and 95 premium condominiums and residences. Langan performed geotechnical and environmental engineering investigations and provided foundation recommendations to support the proposed tower on spread footings supported on rock.

Stern Architects SLCE Architects WSP Tishman Construction Corporation Geotechnical Langan provided geotechnical engineering New York City Transit subway coordination and excavation support design for what will be the tallest residential tower in downtown Manhattan. Located in Tribeca this 82-story tower combines 157 luxury condominium apartments with a five-star 189-room Four Seasons Hotel and public plaza. The four ground floors include such amenities as restaurants meeting facilities ballrooms a spa a swimming pool and fitness center. 56 LEONARD New York NY Alexico Group Hines Herzog & de Meuron Costas Kondylis Goldstein Hill & West Architects WSP Cantor Seinuk Hunter Roberts Construction Group Geotechnical Site/Civil Environmental Langan engineers provided site/civil geotechnical and environmental services for this condominium tower featuring dramatic cantilevered terraces. It will be Architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron's first high-rise commission anywhere in the world. The site a 125-ft-wide by 100-ft-deep rectangular parcel in Tribeca consists of two adjoined lots previously occupied by the former New York Law School (NYLS) library building. The proposed building will consist of a 60-story residential high-rise tower with a single cellar level. OOSTEN CONDOMINIUM (429 KENT AVENUE) Brooklyn NY R Black Global XIN Development Piet Boon WASA/Studio A Wexler Associates Site/Civil Geotechnical Environmental Landscape Architecture Langan provided multiple design and construction administration services for this new eight-story 500 000-GSF condominium that encompasses an entire block along the South Williamsburg waterfront. Langan's landscape design services included designs for ground level planting and three levels of rooftop amenity space. Our environmental engineers established a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) and Construction Health and Safety Plan (CHASP) to remediate approximately 95 000 SF of property. Langan's geotechnical staff completed a subsurface investigation seismic evaluations and provided recommendations for foundation design and construction. Site/civil engineering services included full engineering sets from schematic to final bid documents.
VIA 57 WEST New York NY The Durst Organization Bjarke Ingels Group Thornton Tomasetti Hunter Roberts Construction Group Geotechnical Site/Civil Regarded as a cross between Copenhagen-style residential courtyards and a New York City skyscraper this mixed-use 38-story residential building in Midtown West includes 709 residential units and ground floor retail space. A massive outdoor courtyard cut into the center of the building adds to the structure's unique pyramid-like shape. Langan performed extensive geotechnical and site/civil work including design of a bioswale; in addition Langan produced a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. 1501 VOORHIES AVENUE BROOKLYN Brooklyn NY AvalonBay Communities Perkins Eastman DeSimone Consulting Engineers Geotechnical Site/Civil Environmental Traffic & Transportation Langan provided multi-discipline engineering services for a 28-story residential tower (236 units) two-story parking garage with a recreational roof and onsite parking located on approximately 2.3 acres. Numerous challenges arose during the project including high building loads strict settlement tolerances and poor soil conditions. Langan's geotechnical engineers performed a finite element analysis to model subsurface conditions and designed a hybrid foundation system that combined different pile types extending to various depths. Our transportation team conducted a comprehensive assessment of traffic and pedestrian circulation and safety issues and our environmental team completed a diesel fuel spill closure report. Additionally Langan's site/civil support included site evaluation record search utility and zoning reviews and a flood plain consultation. PRISM AT PARK AVENUE SOUTH APARTMENTS New York NY Equity Residential Toll Brothers Christian de Portzamparc (Design) Handel Architects DeSimone Consulting Engineers Lend Lease Geotechnical Environmental Site/Civil Surveying/Geospatial Located in the Madison Square North (NoMad) section of Manhattan this 40-story residential tower (476-FT) has a combined total of 363 apartments and condominiums. The development scope included demolition of existing structures excavation to 30 feet below sidewalk grade construction of the 40-story tower and replacement of a portion of the adjacent subway station. Langan geotechnical engineers performed two phases of site investigation and provided design and construction recommendations to satisfy project needs and New York City Department of Buildings requirements. Our environmental engineers performed waste characterization and provided coordination with NYCOER that included remediation investigation and oversight and a successful Voluntary Cleanup Program Brownfield Incentive Grant Application.
THE ASHLAND Brooklyn NY Gotham FXCollaborative SPAN Architecture WSP USA ICOR Associates Site/Civil Geotechnical Environmental Surveying/Geospatial The Ashland is a 52-story 586-unit mixed-income residential tower in Fort Greene. The ground level contains rehearsal space for Theatre for a New Audience amenity space for residents and a 17 000-SF food hall named Gotham Market at The Ashland. Langan provided multi-discipline engineering and surveying services for the project. Our responsibilities included a topographic and boundary survey remedial investigation report waste characterization study Builders Pavement Plan and inspections for environmental remediation and deep foundation elements.
THE ELEVENTH (76 ELEVENTH AVENUE) New York NY HFZ/Six Senses Joint Venture Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) WSP Environmental Geotechnical Site/Civil Langan provided environmental geotechnical and site/civil engineering services for the mixed-use redevelopment of a 1.8-acre former manufactured gas plant (MGP) site in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. We provided engineering services in support of obtaining a Certificate of Completion for this project which was remediated under the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program.

Langan has been retained by multiple teams to provide geotechnical site/civil environmental and traffic engineering seismic design analysis and surveying services during the pre-design phase of development.
