Mihai Corneliu Driscu: Written Rationale Paragraph one : Background As an Architect and Professor, my principal aim is to improve architectural education and also to advance the quality of architectural education. The EAAE Association provides a forum for generating and exchanging information on aspects of architectural education and architectural research, so it is of great importance for our school to be part of. The Association also aims at improving the knowledge base and the quality of architectural and urban design education and research. My experience in the professional domain and also in educational system demonstrates necessary skills to accomplish the requested duties of such position. Managements abilities are represented by the experience as Dean since 2016, (previous Vice-Dean for four years) and also President of the Romanian Order of Architects for my region, since 2014. Paragraph two : Intentions As a Member of the EAAE Council my tasks will be in accordance with a member s duties, as mentioned in the Statement. I will contribute to consolidate and expand the network of European Schools of Architecture fostering the discussion, the exchanges and a common policy in the Central and Eastern region to advance the quality of architectural education all over Europe.
Mihai Corneliu Driscu: Personal Statement: I have already established relations with professional organizations on a national and international level and intend to continue these activities including cooperation with stakeholders or authorities; I will: coordinate and encourage the dialogue between the different member schools at a national, regional and European level; participate and promote the organization of thematic networks through conferences and workshops between our schools; articulate critical issues in the context of architectural education, as well as architectural research as a PhD coordinator; strive for academic excellence. The following duties are particularly reserved as a member of the Council : Execution of the Association s general policy and thus the regulations and methods of applying it; Organizing the Association s activities, in particular the conferences, seminars and fora; Raising funds and supervision of the use of these funds, if necessary; Preparing the annual report and the accounts to be presented to the General Assembly; Proposal of candidates of members of the Council to the General Assembly.
