Post in 1895, who at the time was known for his innovative skyscraper designs, including The New York World Building. Formerly known as the Sprague Building, 817 Broadway originally cost $250,000 to construct and was designed for cloak manufacturers Meyer Jonasson & Company. Nearing its 125th year in history, restoration efforts are underway to revive the ornate façade, featuring elements of limestone, terra cotta, and Roman brick.
