I do not like barriers or borders. I discovered that I loved those called indigenous people" because my soul is largely indigenous, nomadic, northerly and vagabond. It has been so for moons and moons. Why? Because I feel much more free among the nomads and my freedom goes through the departure, whether physical or psychic, real or "fictional". The more I am in the North, the more I am allowed to leave, come back and breathe freely, without judgment other than knowing that I remain available, no matter where I live in the world. [ ] there is no need for architecture or urbanism in order to dwell. When there is, it can be better, or it can be worse. But the desert (the an-architecture) does not prevent the nomad from dwelling. And the nomad [ ] is probably the one who dwells/inhabits the most. Or, say: the nomad is the one who dwells the most with a minimum of architecture. Benoit Goetz (2011, 10) Théorie des maisons : l'habitation, la surprise. I would say [...] that no one exists without dwelling (more or less). And that it is not possible to live without a house, nor is it possible to be human without culture or language. But language and thought also belong to the house. Houses are made of materials and thoughts, of architecture and philosophies, but also of behaviors and gestures. habiter comme faits et aspirations dwelling... as facts and aspirations Design hypotheses : Architecture produces the physical frameworks that allow for dwelling. Dwelling, as fact and as aspiration, articulates various relationships between ideas and reality. The architect's task consists in inventing opportunities for dwelling, in building them.
