Acceptance of the Minutes and Written Decisions of the August 9, 2017 Meeting Commission Action: A motion was made by Morrie Bishop, seconded by Aaron Chaisson to accept the minutes and written decision of the August 9, 2017 Zoning Commission meeting. A Yea and Nay vote was called and resulted as follows: Yeas: Julio Dumas, Morrie Bishop, Ken Firmin, Aaron Chaisson, Anthony Christy and Wade Schexnaydre Nays: None Absent: None The Chairman did not vote. 6 Yeas, 0 Nays, 0 Absent and the motion carried. 4. Chairman s Comments There were no Chairman s Comments. 5. Public Hearing to Amend the Ascension Parish Development Code for Recommendation for Approval or Denial to the Ascension Parish Council B. Zoning Review D PZ-1396.17 11.43 Acres for Lloyd George Acosta Jr. and Brenda Acosta Located on the north side of LA Highway 1 South approximately 575' east of Fontana Road to request to amend the Ascension Parish Zoning Map from Medium ntensity Residential (RM) to Mixed Use (MU) Mr. George Acosta, property owner, presented the request to rezone the property located on the north side of LA Highway 1 South approximately 575' east of Fontana Road from Medium ntensity Residential (RM) to Mixed Use (MU). During Public Comment Period, Barry St. Germaine, Jeanne St. Germaine and Maria Dugas, with Dugas Law Firm, spoke against the rezone request. Commission Action: A motion was made by Wade Schexnaydre, seconded by Aaron Chaisson, to recommend DENAL to the Parish Council to amend the Ascension Parish Zoning Map to rezone the property located on the north side of LA Highway 1 South approximately 575' east of Fontana Road from Medium ntensity Residential (RM) to Mixed Use (MU). A Yea and Nay vote was called and resulted as follows: Yeas: Anthony Christy, Julio Dumas, Aaron Chaisson, Wade Schenaydre, Morrie Bishop and Ken Firmin Nays: None Absent: None The Chairman did not vote. 6 Yeas, 0 Nays, 0 Absent and the motion carried.

Zoning Commission 2 Commission Action: A motion was made by Aaron Chaisson, seconded by Anthony Christy, to amend the agenda to include adopting Robert s Rule of Order (tem #6). 6. Adopting Robert s Rule of Order by the Zoning Commission At Planning Commission meeting, Chairman Pryor expressed that recent events it seems clear for the Commission to have some set rules of governance. He stated he thinks the Planning & Zoning Commissions should adopt Robert s Rules of Order, as the Parish Council uses these rules for governing their meetings. Previously adopted by the Planning Commission and is now being adopted by the Zoning Commission. Commission Action: A motion was made by Aaron Chaisson, seconded by Wade Schexnaydre, and unanimously adopted, to approve having Robert s Rules of Order for the Zoning Commission to follow as their set rules of governance with the following special rule (s) of order. 7. Staff Comments/Report A. Edenborne 8. Adjourn Staff will present the Edenborne Project at the November 8, 2017 Zoning Commission Meeting.
