It was moved by Commissioner Derifield, and seconded by Commissioner Upton, that the revised Consent Agenda be approved, subject to the addition of Case Number: SF-12-07 and Case Number: GN-12-07. D. APPEARANCE REVIEW 1. *Appearance Case Number GN-12-11: Garage Review at 235 Imperial Avenue Martin Lewandowski and Guy Thomas Pittman submitted an application for a garage review at 235 Imperial Avenue. The proposed garage would be 18 feet in height. Proposed materials include red cedar shingles, stucco, and asphalt shingles. Exhibits of the garage s size, design and relationship to the residence were entered. The Commission found the proposed garage to be in keeping with the character of the residence. Proposed materials include hardiboard siding, white columns and stone to match existing. The Commission found the single family alteration to be designed appropriately for the building and area. Architecture, submitted an application for a single family residence at 417 North Redfield Court. The proposed residence would be a two-story structure with a detached three-car garage. Proposed materials include stone, brown face brick, and gray asphalt shingles. 3
The applicant presented revised elevation drawings at the meeting. The Commission discussed the stone base continuing around all sides of the proposed mudroom to ensure material transitions end at inside corners, and the addition of a one-story roof element to go across the entry at the left side of the front façade to facilitate scale reduction. AGREED to approve the single family residence at 417 North Redfield Court, Appearance Case Number SF-12-19, subject to the changes as shown in Exhibit A. In making the motion, the Commission made findings based on the exhibits presented. The height and massing of the proposed single family residence would be in keeping with the character of the neighborhood, the garage location is appropriate, and building materials and landscaping would be well coordinated with the residence. Therefore, the Commission finds that the proposed single family residence would be designed in accordance with the standards, spirit, and purpose of the 5. Appearance Case Number SF-12-20: Single Family Residence, at 2119 DeCook Avenue Liana and Sebastian Madura and Architect Bob Kolososki, submitted an application for a single family residence at 2119 DeCook Avenue. The proposed residence would be a two-story structure with an attached three-car garage. Proposed materials include stone, gray brick, tan trim and brown asphalt shingles. The Commission discussed the massing and scale of the proposed residence, and how it related to the neighborhood. The Commission discussed reducing the height of the porch, adjusting the eave height, adding another material, and adding divided lights as possible ways to help reduce the impact. Additional evergreen plantings and more mature landscaping should be added. AGREED to continue the single family residence at 2119 DeCook Avenue, Appearance Case Number SF-12-20 to the next meeting on August 16, 2012. ABSENT _2_ Kuhlman and Norman 4

ABSENT _2_ Kuhlman and Norman E. OTHER BUSINESS Alderman Smith informed the Commissioners the Acting City Manager, Juliana Maller had recently resigned. Her last day with the City will be August 9, 2012. This will leave the City without a City Manager and Department Manager. The position of Deputy City Manager may also be eliminated. Elections will be next year in April. Alderman Smith mentioned there will changes on parkway landscapes, as over 1,000 trees have been removed due to the Emerald ash borer disease. F.
