ABOUT THE COLLEGE K. G. Joshi & N. G. Bedekar College of Arts & Commerce was e first institution of higher learning to be established in Thane City in 1969. The college received permanent affiliation in January, 1988 wi effect from June 1982. It was awarded B++ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2004 and reaccredited wi A grade in 2011. The college has offered several courses and specialisations at undergraduate level catering students not only from Thane City but also from e peripheral areas in e vicinity. ABOUT THE CONFERENCE The Conference Theme Geography of Change proves its significance in e current Geographical Research worldwide as Geography has remained one of e valuable platforms in bringing in e collective understanding of e current economic and social changes. The contemporary global economic restructuring is responsible for bringing in massive transformations. These transformations are responsible for inducing newer forms of spatial organisation resulting in e development of complicated social, economic and cultural structures. The conference is aimed at grasping e impact of such transformations on spatial development, people and environmental systems. It intends to cover e spectrum of issues in is respect. Additional Details A Two day Pre-Conference Workshop will be held to encourage participation from various academic groups like teaching faculties and students. The schedule is as follows : rd I. One day workshop for Students on 23 August, 2012 II. One day workshop for Teachers on 29 November, 2012 The workshop for teachers is also designed to incorporate and invite school and junior college teachers to present research papers. Topics Covered Paper should be presented on any of e suggested research emes for e conference. Call for Papers and Participation Participants are requested to submit abstracts of eir paper in e following format: 1) Abstracts not exceeding 300 words should be submitted in MS- Word, version 2007. The text should be in Times New Roman wi font size 12 and double spacing. 2) The abstract should include Title, name of e presenter, affiliation details, mailing address and key words. 3) An e-mail version of abstract must be sent at geographyconference2013@gmail.com 4) The paper presenters are also required to register as delegates for e conference. 5) In case of very strong researches, e participants will be allowed to give presentations in national language i.e. Hindi. 6) Decision of e Editorial Committee will be final regarding e selection of papers. The payment can also be made by paying in cash. Accomodation On prior intimation from e participants, accommodation will be arranged. The charges can vary from Rs. 400/- to Rs.1500/- as per e requirements of e participants. The accommodation charges will be borne by e participants.
