The Schillerpark Settlement Barfusstraße 1 13349 Berlin http://wwwstadtentwicklungberlinde/denkmal/denkmale_i n_berlin/en/weltkulturerbe/siedlungen/schillerparkshtml The Settlement was the first metropolitan housing project in Berlin during the Weimar Republic Taut's urban planning reflects modern Dutch architecture, particularly the work of Jakobus Johannes Pieter Oud His choice of materials also reflects the brick buildings of Amsterdam Colour as an element of design is predominantly restricted to the interior Instead, the design of the façades focuses on building materials and a spatial structure visible from the outside - such as a jamb floor without joints on which laundry facilities and drying rooms have been located A third flat, which juts out from the row of buildings with three flats per floor, provides for a particularly striking façade relief of the buildings that were constructed first Buildings erected at a later stage do not have this feature any more This reduction of shape, tending towards minimalism, not only reflects the contemporary architectural trend, but is also economically motivated From 2008 on the UNESCO List 1930 Main designer,, Urban planner Bruno Taut Max Taut http://wwwmimoaeu/users/armandocaroca/guides/berlin%20agosto%202013/ 2

Großsiedlung Siemensstadt Ring settlement Geißlerpfad 1 13627 Berlin http://wwwstadtentwicklungberlinde/denkmal/denkmale_i n_berlin/en/weltkulturerbe/siedlungen/siemensstadtshtml Siemensstadt Metropolitan settlement antedates the modern concept of a relaxed atmosphere in the city green surroundings even more strongly than "White City", which was built at the same time in Berlin, thereby pointing the way to the domestic construction after World War II Scharoun arranged the rows of houses strictly in a north-south direction The population of old trees was conserved, emphasising the countryside character of the settlement right from the beginning Despite its strict urban design, the settlement appears architecturally diversified It demonstrates the whole range of new architecture, ranging from Walter Gropius' cool functionalism to Scharoun's strictly differentiating style of design to Hugo Häring's organic variety of designs From 2008 the settlement is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as a part of "Berlin Housing Estates of the 1920s" 1934 Main designer,, Urban planner Technical engineer Client Hans Scharoun Fred Forbat Hugo Häring Walter Gropius Max Mengeringshausen Gemeinnützige Heimstättengesellschaft Primus mbh der Stadt Berlin http://wwwmimoaeu/users/armandocaroca/guides/berlin%20agosto%202013/ 5
