The Sydney University Arts Association was formed in 1953, with the following objectives: 1. To promote the interests of the Faculty of Arts in the University of Sydney, to foster the study of the liberal arts and humanities, and to make their nature and content more widely known and valued in the community generally. 2. To encourage and assist members to keep in touch with new developments in the various subjects of the Faculty of Arts. 3. To enable members to maintain and extend associations with one another. 4. To improve the equipment and resources of the Faculty of Arts. The Association is open to all graduates of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Sydney, and to others who, in the opinion of the Committee, are interested in its objectives. The membership at present includes both graduates and others.
