Dormitories of the University of Silesia General information Each incoming student is eligible to rent in the University Student Hostels. You can choose your accommodation in epass system. It is enough to tick the kind of room you wish to have in epass system. The rooms will be allocated on the first come, first served' basis. Dormitories are located in 3 cities of the region; therefore, accommodation is suggested according to the faculty. Find your faculty and decide where you want to stay. Generally, rooms contain bedding but no dishes or cutlery. In almost every single room there is access to the Internet. Kitchen, laundry, television and computer rooms are available for general use. The standard of rooms varies and there is only a limited number of single rooms. Therefore, rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The number of students entering the University of Silesia every year is large. Priority to get a single room have upper year/level students. The prices may change from the first of September each year.

Campus in Katowice The campus is situated in the district of Katowice called Ligota. The campus in Ligota consists of 3 Student Hostels, 2 student clubs, a pub, a few shops and the EGIDA radio. Although it's about 20 minutes by bus from the centre of Katowice, it's located on the edge of a lovely forest and is close to the recreation areas of a park. Campus in Sosnowiec The campus is situated in the district of Sosnowiec called Pogoń. The campus in Sosnowiec consists of 4 Student Hostels, a canteen that serves very good dinners and a student club. The campus in Sosnowiec is situated about 10-15 minutes on foot from the faculties' buildings in Sosnowiec next door to the Faculty of Earth Sciences, and 15-30 minutes by bus from the centre of Katowice.
