Surge Facility Construction Update Road has been reopened Unable to complete construction due to concerns with condition of pipe o Test results showed potential issues at high point on Franklin Street o Test results appeared to be satisfactory at location adjacent to Convention Center o Permit constraints for roadway closure didn t allow for additional assessment Evaluating options to perform additional assessments in the near future

What to Expect 12 Force Main Construction Pipe would be staged on Davis Islands 24/7 construction work would be limited to one day Restoration and beautification of the area would be completed to the standards of the SNA

Plans for Old 54 Force Main Plan to abandon existing pipe has not been finalized Not practical to remove existing pipeline or fill with grout Pipe will be flushed with clean water to remove sewage and prevent corrosion Valves will be installed at the ends of pipeline to seal the pipe City has no intentions of using pipe in the future, but it could be used in an extreme emergency City will remain responsible for the pipe and will monitor its condition

Project Timeline Final Route recommendations to the City by mid-november 2018 First Segment of Harbour Island Force Main Replacement Installation to begin by mid-december 2018 A timeline for design, permitting and construction will be presented once a final route is selected
