House The White House is believed to have been built in 1850 and has been most recently refurbished by the present owner to a very high standard. While it has been updated, many of the period features remain, including intricate cornicing, ceiling roses and beautiful fire surrounds. The accommodation flows well with generous proportions and elegant large sash windows affording an abundance of natural light throughout the property. The property has a wealth of period features along with the subtle integration of modern technology which means that the house benefits from the best of both worlds. Some of the specification includes - Cat 6 cables in each room linked to the basement allowing the option of having multimedia, TV, Internet and music. There is a ceiling speaker system in the sitting room, the kitchen and the playroom. There is also cabling in place for outside speakers. The family and master en-suite bathrooms are fitted with DAB radio system. The kitchen has an integrated Quooker boiling hot water tap, induction hob with pop up extractor and wine cooler. There is a full range of fitted Miele appliances including two ovens, a steam oven, coffee machine and two plate warmers.

Gardens and grounds The house is approached from the road through electric gates to a large parking area in front of the house which can accommodate up to eight cars comfortably. This area is screened from the road and neighbouring properties by mature walls and well stocked shrub beds. To the rear of the house is a large paved terrace flanked by the house on three sides creating a courtyard with steps at the far end leading down on to the lawns that run away from the house. There is a large decked area incorporating a hot tub enclosed by a glazed surround. The walled gardens are mainly laid to lawn with flower and shrub beds to either side. At the far end of the formal garden is a low brick wall with steps that lead down in to a further wild garden that adjoins open countryside beyond. The gardens and grounds extend to about 1 acre.
