With a population of just 400 people, Orelle is a traditional resort rich with a unique architectural heritage. While strolling around the village, there are old laundrettes and fountains where people use to collect drinking water, do their washing or simply bake their own bread at the communal oven. The church is the symbol and pride of the villagers. Built around the XV th century, presents some altars and extraordinary tables, displaying a style that we can be found everywhere in the Alps. The picturesque village of Orelle lies in the 3 Valleys ski area, which with over 600km of pistes, is the largest ski area in Europe. The resort of Val-Thorens, is accessible in just 15 minutes from Orelle via the Orelle cable car and features a beginner zone (suitable for children aged 5 years+) with a magic carpet and free drag lift. At an altitude of 2300m, Val-Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe and ensures fantastic snow conditions no matter what time of the season guests are here. With a ski pass guests have access to all skiing slopes. From challenging verticals on the glacier, to picturesque cruise slopes and easily accessible slopes for families, beginners and kids, there is something for everyone. And let's not forget the great freestyle parks! For those aged 5 to 88 years, there is a toboggan run, which at 6km in length is the longest in France. Younger children aged 2+ need not miss out on the fun thanks to the Baby Fun toboggan area, and there is also a shorter 240m toboggan run for children aged 6 to 10 years. Orelle is also home to a truly unique and thrilling experience: the highest zip line in the world! Starting at the top of the Bouchet chair lift, at an altitude of 3230m, the 1300m zip line takes you to the peak of Val Thorens at 3000m, in approximately 1 minute 45. The flight offers a unique panoramic view of the Maurienne valley and the face of Aiguilles d Arve. The zip line is only open during the winter season, accessible by ski. If you are between 8 and 88 years, and weigh less than 120kg, access the zip line from the chair lift of Bouchet, in the Orelle ski domain, for only 50. There will be various animations at the residence to keep adults and children of all ages entertained throughout the week. Activities include cultural animations, such as quizzes, an arts and crafts market and sports activities such as pool games and aqua aerobics. A selection of board games are available from reception and the function room will also be available free of charge, also for children, to use when it not reserved by other parties. There is a new fitness room in the SPA area for guests to use free of charge during their stay. Access to the SPA will also be free of charge for the duration of their stay (subject to availability). Only French registered ski & snowboard schools and their instructors are allowed to teach on the ski slopes in France. For ski lessons, please see the ESF contact details at the end of this document.
Families: Orelle is a holiday resort that specializes in family holidays. There is a day care centre, Le Mazot des Croes, which welcomes children aged 3 months to 6 years, so that parents can enjoy their day skiing safe in the knowledge that their children are also being well looked after. Due to high demand, it is recommended to book in advance. There are also plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy: "Giant wooden games are made available on the site of the ski lift afternoons during the school holidays. "Taste the farm," a discovery of the village at night with stories and legends of yesteryear, every Friday. "Snowshoe" pleasure rides in large untouched areas of powder snow, ideal for families, subject to snow conditions*. *N.B: Free snowshoeing on Orelle routes until 11 th May, depending on the snow. Snowshoe encadre : until 18 th April (vehicle required) THE RESIDENCE The residence is a 3* Spa complex consisting of 8 buildings with 3 to 5 floors. It features a restaurant and bar with wifi, 180m2 meeting room, 200m2 wellness centre, grocery store, laundry room, communal ski room and 169 apartments, of which Alpvision Residences manages 46 apartments. Each apartment sleeps between 2 and 8 people and offers a large private balcony or terrace with a view over the surrounding mountains, and an interior or exterior parking place.
