Mwacharo an architect and building contract expert with more than twenty years of business experience, have agreed to establish Umoyaplan Consultants CC as a black business to create jobs and train and empower the youth. Umoyaplan has since its inception delivered on a wide range of project delivered nationally in most provinces. 2. COMPANY PROFILE The main objective of the firm is to provide the government and private clients with quality mediation, building contract, urban design (improving built environment, heritage and transport quality of neighborhoods) and architectural services that meet their aspirations and expectations. He has a linked Postgraduate Diploma and masters of architecture Degree in Urban Design (focusing on affordable housing processes, basic infrastructure and urban design planning) from Oxford Brookes University, England. He has experience in the design and supervision of public projects and programmes in water and sanitation, planning negotiation and mediation, writing proposals and fundraising, shanty upgrading and mobilization of grassroots associations. He is a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, registered with South African Council of Architectural Profession and is a registered architect with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quality Surveyors of the Republic of Kenya. In 1999 African Alliance of YMCA s gave him an award for exemplary technical service. He is also a volunteer on two self-help groups dealing with AIDS/HIV and rural development programmes in
