BJCEM Network The Network is made of 59 members from 21 Countries gathering together public bodies, state departments, founda>ons, municipali>es, independent associa>ons and cultural ins>tu>ons. BJCEM is member of the Anna Lindh Founda=on and of the Culture Ac=on Europe network. The Network is present in the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croa>a, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Montenegro, Pales>ne, Portugal, Republic of San Marino, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey and UK. BJCEM cooperates with external partners in Austria, Israel and Kosovo.
BJCEM ac>vi>es: the Biennale BJCEM organizes the Biennale of Young Ar=sts from Europe and the Mediterranean, gathering together hundreds of young ar>sts in a different city of the Network. An event where young talents in various disciplines, such as cinema, music, gastronomy, visual art, theatre, dance, literature, can meet and promote their art. In its 30-years history, BJCEM promoted 18 Biennials, involving more than 10.000 young ar=sts and over 700.000 visitors: Barcelona (1985 and 1987), Thessaloniki (1986), Bologna (1988), Marseille (1990), Valencia (1992), Lisbon (1994), Turin (1997), Rome (1999), Sarajevo (2001), Athens (2003), Naples (2005), Puglia (2008), Skopje (2009), Thessaloniki/Rome (2011), Ancona (2013), Milan (2015), and Tirana/Durres (2017).

Collabora>ve project.02 Come un mare fuor d acqua Supported by BJCEM An ar>s>c project by Anna Raimondo Curatorial advice Marco Trulli A research path for the evidences of the presence of the aqua>c universe in the urban dimension that the ar>st Anna Raimondo carried out in different European countries. In Milan, she interviewed local inhabitants coming from different geographic and cultural horizons to reflect on their ideas of the sea, exploring their experiences, impressions and projec>ons. In Brussels, she rebuilds an aqua>c landscape through an acous>c parade that recalls the i>nerary of the river Senne. In Tuscia, Lazio, she met inmates of the prison of Viterbo and she focused on evoking melodies and memories related to the sea. The results were presented during Mediterranea 18 Young Ar>sts Biennale

Collabora>ve project.04 Mediterranean landscapes Supported by BJCEM, in collabora>on with: Arci, Arci Lazio and Arci Liguria Skuc Associa>on Can>erid Arte RAJ Tunisie A-pois Associa>on Pelagica Under the patronage of Municipality of Viterbo, Genova, Sestri Levante, Tuscia University A traveling ar>st residency project based on the belief that the landscape significantly changes with people movement, constantly redefining itself with muta>ons of languages and ways of living. A research conducted outside the big urban centers, in the heart of the most mysterious gorges of Tuscia or in the Tigullio bunkers, represented a challenge for the ar>sts, and a reflec>on on the traces of Mediterranean iden>>es lep in these places. 5 ar>sts selected through an interna>onal call 3 residencies in Italy, and Slovenia 5 original produc>ons showcased during Mediterranea 18 Young Ar>sts Biennale Curated by Giudiqa Nelli, Pelagica (Laura Lecce and Fabrizio Va>eri), Marco Trulli
Collabora>ve project.05 MOTEL TROGIR The East is west of the West Supported by BJCEM Curated by Nataša Bodrožić and the Motel Trogir team (Saša Šimpraga, Lidija Butković, Ivana Meštrov) The project is focused on the preserva>on and (re)evalua>on of the mid-20th century architectural heritage from the period of the Socialist Yugoslavia on the Adria>c coast (and beyond). The project is based on short term residency/study visit to two mid Dalma>an towns. This year s topic was to examine how the story appears, rela>ng it to the concrete context and the modernist built environment in mid Dalma>a. 5 ar>sts selected through an interna>onal call 1 residency/study visit in Croa>a 5 original produc>ons showcased during Mediterranea 18 Young Ar>sts Biennale
Collabora=ve projects.final PRESENTATION 4-day event in Milan @La Fabbrica del Vapore, to present the results of the collabora=ve projects developed during 2016. An event supported by the city of Milan, and by Crea>ve Europe, that brought in Milan 30 ar=sts and curators from more than 15 countries. They had the chance to present their projects in workshops, debates and lectures, and to meet local ar>sts. A catalogue was produced with the results of all the projects.
The event in Milan was also the occasion to launch and present to the public the incoming 18 edi=on of the Biennale, Mediterranea 18 Young Ar=sts Biennale
Mediterranea 18 Young Ar>sts Biennale The 18 edi>on of the Biennale, Mediterranean 18 Young Ar>sts Biennale, was hosted for the very first >me in Albania from May 4 to 9, in Tirana and Durres. An event promoted by BJCEM and organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Albania, in collabora=on with the Ci=es of Tirana and Durres, and Puglia Region.
Pre-Biennale in Bari, May 3, 2017 Mediterranean 18 was preceded by a pre- Biennial event in Bari on May 3rd. Over 120 ar>sts and 40 interna>onal guests aqended the theater performance Katër i Radës. Il Naufragio, produced by La Biennale Musica di Venezia and Can>eri Teatrali Koreja, directed by Salvatore Tramacere, music by Admir Shkurtaj and libreqo by Alessandro Leogrande. All ar>sts and guests were then carried on a ferry that took them from Bari to Durres. On board, they were involved in a unique conversa>on with interna>onal guests and ar>sts, around an artwork by Michelangelo Pistoleqo and Juan Sandoval, Mediterranean Sea - Love Difference Chairs", consis>ng of sixty chairs that together draw the outline of the Mediterranean Sea.
Mediterranea 18 Young Ar=sts Biennale Tirana&Durres 230 visual ar>sts, directors, writers, actors, musicians and designers from 18 to 34 years, coming from 22 countries, have been selected through an interna>onal call in the disciplines of: visual arts, applied arts, film, music, performance and literary crea>on. The ar>sts were invited to present their projects focusing on the "HOME" theme, elaborated by the Ar>s>c Director Driant Zeneli, who ar>culated it in four themes Story+Conflict+Dream+Failure=House.
The Curatorial Team comes from various countries and backgrounds, and bring with them valuable experience for cura>ng their respec>ve discipline.
