the design circle 2018 welcome the design circle Design Patrons 1,000 + Membership as a Patron offers behind-the-scenes access to the museum and to events throughout the year such as curator-led tours, studio visits and conversations. Design Fellows 5,000 + Membership as a Fellow offers a more exclusive level of access with tours of private collections, trips with the Directors and the chance to spend time with some of the most creative designers and architects in the world. Design Benefactors 10,000 + Membership as a Benefactor offers a unique relationship with the Directors of the Museum and the opportunity to make a philanthropic gift to support our core activities that will be recognised accordingly against an exhibition or programme of your choice. At this level we would also offer complimentary room hire (terms and conditions apply). directors introduction The Design Museum has now been open in its new Kensington home for almost two years and has welcomed more than 1.2m visitors, taught more than 60,000 learners in specific programmes, sold a record 290,000 tickets and raised over 8m in income from admissions, commercial activities and fundraising efforts. More recently, the Museum has won the European Museum of the Year award, further building on these successes. This transformational achievement is the product of the continuing commitment and generosity of our donors and funders, an enterprising approach to running the museum and the sustained effort of our staff, volunteers and trustees. We have demonstrated that design is as much a part of the cultural landscape as contemporary art, music or theatre. We are proud of these accomplishments and very grateful for your support. In the next few months, our programme will continue to offer a global perspective on design and architecture and challenge our audiences to look afresh at the world around them and make it better. A particular highlight this season, created in partnership with IKEA Museum, will be a major exhibition which explores the key social and technological aspirations that have driven change in the home. Home Futures will feature significant works by designers including Ettore Sottsass and Enzo Mari, as well as contemporary figures such as Dunne & Raby and Rem Koolhaas. Thank you again for your decision to support the Design Museum. We look forward to welcoming you and hope that you will enjoy many Design Circle events this season.
