Oya Atalay Franck President of EAAE / AEEA c/o secretary of EAAE Dr. Inge Lens Universiteit Hasselt Campus Diepenbeek Agoralaan gebouw E B 3590 Diepenbeek (Belgium) Prague, June 9th, 2018 Dear Ms. President, I would like to announce my candidacy for the EAAE Council member within the elections that will take place in Porto on August 31st, 2018. I ve been a Council member for three years. At the time of my first election, the European Association for Architecture Schools was on a crossroad. The turbulent times are now over, thanks to the performance of the Council under the leadership of Karl Otto Ellefsen. I would like to continue in the established course under the new president, who came with fresh energy and new ideas. Lot of work has been done, but there is also a lot of work ahead of us. Current tasks remain how to create a professional institution that takes active part in discussions on architectural education how to raise the number of schools with EAAE membership how to better communicate with the affiliated schools how to promote the role and benefits of EAAE how to attract young people to cooperate with the Association. These are among the issues of 2018. I am seeking the seat in the Council to contribute to this process and to benefit the architectural education in Europe. Through the past years, I ve been serving the Faculty of Architecture CTU and the whole university on different levels. At the same time I have been working as an active architect. My candidacy is based on the conviction that I can combine my experience from both the academic and practical field for the sake of EAAE. I intend to do my utmost to help the EAAE preserve its role of a respected institution in the field of architectural education. With best regards, Ing. arch.
