Bolesław (William or Wilhelm) Sinkwitz (Likely not the original spelling of the surname) Born 1 November 1828 in Kalisz in Russian-occupied Poland. Died in Hayward, California, 19 October 1913 Died in 1913 From Wikipedia: In 1807 Kalisz became a provincial capital within the Duchy of Warsaw. During Napoleon's invasion of Russia, following Yorck's Convention of Tauroggen of 1812, von Stein's Treaty of Kalisz was signed between Russia and Prussia in 1813, confirming that Prussia now was on the side of the Allies. After the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte, Kalisz became a provincial capital of Congress Poland and then the capital of a province of the Russian Empire. 1900 and 1910 census records list the immigration year of Wm. Sinkwitz as 1850 Manifest shown below lists arrival date as 1852 (could have returned to Europe and reentered, or could be another person, or the record below is actually his first USA entry; IF his son, William, was born in Pennsylvania between 1849 and 1851, and IF William was his biological son, then he was here before 1852 or William s birth year is incorrect) Name: Wilhelm Sinkovitz Arrival Date: 11 Dec 1852 Birth Date: abt 1829 Age: 23 Gender: Male Ethnicity/ Nationality: German Place of Origin: Germany Port of Departure: Le Havre, France Port of Arrival: New York, New York Ship Name: Howard Lived in Pennsylvania, and St. Louis, Missouri, before arriving in San Francisco, about 1860, and settling in Hayward, about 1872
