Close cooperation with local residents and businesses Since 2012 research has been done on the impact of the wind farm on the surroundings. The research considered the impact for residents, environment, but also local businesses like fisherman. During the research stakeholders were kept informed on the progress Stakeholders alternative solutions were being considered. Results of the research is publically available. 11
Communication is key success factor of community wind farms Using information meetings, the company web page, and even news letters, the stakeholders have been informed on the development, impact, and technical issues of the wind farm. The main criticism that developers receive include: Sound Shadow Birds By addressing these topics at an early stage people are educated on the facts and myths. 12
Wind Fund Krammer From the region for the region 0,50 transferred to the fund for every MWh. (annually ± 150.000,-) Purpose of the fund: 1. Green utility bill ± 60.000,- Compensation on energy bill for residents within a 2.5km range. Compensation is depending on the distance to the wind farm. Support sustainable projects in the region ± 90.000,- The available amount for the projects is shared by the three surrounding municipalities 13
