Significance continuedi city's finest and most significant residences. Willia* Frobese, Sr., a German immigrant who was a principal partner of the regionally prominent firm of H. Runge k Co., had the house dismantled with the planks numbered and then moved and rebuilt in Cuero from Indianola after the 1875 storm. It appears on the 1881 bird's-eye map of Cuero. Frobese died in 1911 and the house remained in the family until recent years.
