photo: photo: Østfold College University Os alle 9 1757 Halden In the fall of 2005 Østfold University moved into its new premises in Halden, Central to the architectural strategy are the qualities of the surrounding landscape and a limited palette of materials The project -a close integration of new and existing buildings- emphasizes the contrast between different volumes by using simple geometrical prisms, lines and planes to form a complex matrix of functions and spaces The school is dimensioned for about 3000 users and consists of the following faculties: Faculty of Social Sciences and Foreign Languages, Faculty of Computer Sciences and the Faculty of Education The existing building was constructed in the seventies and required a considerable and immediate upgrade to meet the school's present and future needs The new building establishes a functional framework that allows the school to develop furthermore It exposes the central common areas and allows a continuous passage throughout the building complex photo: Public access unknown! Grünerløkka apartment building Korsgata 5 0551 Oslo The apartment building, located on Grünerløkka in an area called Ny York (New York), today one of the most colourful and diverse areas in Oslo The block is a rare remaining example of the intimate blend of housing and small scale industry typical of the 19th century The new structure is designed with special appreciation of these environs, and the backyard has with the new build gained an exciting and contrasting fusion of architecture Featuring distinct architectural form, functional solutions, thoughtful details, and a contemporary overall expression, the building adds a new dimension to the area as well as reflecting the diversity by offering a variation of apartment types to accommodate a range of contemporary living situations The goal was to create an environment adapted to the situation as well as obtaining an efficient exploitation of the site The result is twelve entities with seven typological variations, divided on six floors, with a range of sizes from 31,5 to 85,5 m2 Floor area/size 2010 1050 m² Nazar http://wwwmimoaeu/users/mitri/guides/%202017/ 4
photo: photo: Søren Harder Nilsen Fagerborg Kindergarten Fagerborggata 31 0360 Oslo Reiulf Ramstad s has been involved in designing a new kindergarten for Fagerborg Congregation in central Oslo The kindergarten offers 2 units for children between 1-3 years old and 2 units for children between 3-6 years old There are many cultural heritage guidelines to be considered in the project site The area is characterised by residential buildings from 1900-1950 As a requirement from the local authority, the kindergarten is to have a contemporary expression With its location in the middle of a small city park, the kindergarten has an outdoor area that is protected like an enclosed garden The planning solution enables the 4 kindergarten units to function both independently and together as required All units share a common area and a kitchen in the heart of the building Administration is placed on the upper floor separate from children areas photo: Søren Harder Nilsen 2010 Nazar http://wwwmimoaeu/users/mitri/guides/%202017/ 5
