The UIA recommends to all architects to change their web addresses to.archi On June 16, 2014 thanks to UIA s involvement, architecture was the first profession in the world to be protected on the internet. Since that date, architects and their organisations have their own internet extension,.archi, which is exclusively reserved to them. All architects can now register their domain name ending in.archi like Paul Andreu who has already registered www.paulandreu.archi or the Portman agency which has registered www.portman.archi. Why.archi? For all architects, choosing their.archi address means: More simple internet addresses Immediate recognition of belonging to the profession of architects A better visibility on the internet and search engines A bigger choice than on the.com extensions or the national extensions. For 3 years, the UIA has committed to work with the founders of the.archi extension in order to lobby before the relevant international internet regulator (ICANN) and to obtain the creation of the first internet extension exclusively reserved for professional architects. In order to apply for a domain name ending in.archi, it is of course required to be a member of a member organisation of the UIA, or to be an accredited architecture school, or a museum or media dedicated to architecture. How to register? For 59 * before taxes you can reserve your domain name in a few minutes and immediately use your business or personal.archi internet address and related email address. Choose Choose the name that better corresponds to your name or to that of your agency. Register Choose your domain name reseller from those available in your country. You can register and pay online.
