To: EAAE European Association for Architectural Education Application to join the EAAE Council Dear colleagues, This is to express my interest to join the EAAE Council. My motivation derives from my long-term endeavours to improve the recognition of architectural researchers within the interdisciplinary context of the educational and research community. I would like to build on my experience as the leader of researchers at my faculty, facing the comprehensive university context; and in international projects, changing the scale. I believe I can contribute to the EAAE Council mission. Looking forward to our new collaboration opportunities, with kind regards, izr. prof. dr. Tadeja Zupančič motivation background and intentions & personal statement regarding the EAAE Council duties As a member of the core group of the EAAE Research Academy and potentially as the EAAE Council member, as a member of the ARENA network and as the president of ecaade (Education and Research in Computer Aided Architectural Design in Europe), I would like to contribute to the multifaced knowledge integration in/for/through architecture. Zooming in and out of architectural research. Reaching out of the disciplinary discourse into humanities, social sciences, technical sciences and searching for opportunities of wider interdisciplinary recognition or researchers in architecture. I m active in the EAAE Research Academy activities since 2016, when I organized the meeting in Ljubljana. After the Bordeaux conference the new core group was established, where I m coordinating the activities in 2018. Debora Domingo Calabuig, Harriet Harriss Susanne Komossa, Filipa Roseta Vaz Monteiro and me prepared the 2018-20 programme. My personal project within the programme is called Workshops / Meetings. I m contributing to other projects as well, to the PhD X-ray with Filipa, to the Periodicals Database with Debora, and the Policy Paper and Advocacy developments with Harriet and Susanne. The Workshops & Meetings include many EAAE RA activities. My recent role in the CA 2 RE community development is essential in this context. I organized the second in the series of the CA 2 RE events, the Conference for Artistic and Architectural (Doctoral) Research in Ljubljana. This action derives from my collaboration within the group of people promoting research by design (and practice based research). I would like contribute to the contextualization of these flows into the hybrid world or architectural and interdisciplinary research. I see the CA 2 RE community as a wonderful platform connecting ARENA, EAAE and ELIA, contextualizing architecture in other artistic fields. The Aarhus EAAE RA workshop 2018, associated with the CA 2 RE conference
The Ghent EAAE RA workshop 2018, associated with the ENABLE conference The Madrid EAAE RA workshop 2018, preparation for the EAAE Porto annual conference The 2018 EAAE RA events are focused to both the PhD training development and also to the positioning or research into the core of architectural education, from its very beginning. This is the background of the EAAE RA contribution to the annual conference organization in Porto, where the RA session brings the research layer into the discussion on the Design Studio teaching. My second motivation is the experimentation with research dissemination; the linkage to the publication world. This motivation brings me close to the Architectural Periodicals database activities, coordinated by Debora. I would like to contribute to these activities, bringing the by design researchers and practice based research people to the writing world, for instance. Identifying the PhD candidates, able to disseminate their research in the most prestigious journals and inviting them from the CA2RE and other relevant contexts. Currently my main concern is the development of a larger group of the EAAE Research Academy, capable to raise project-based research funding effectively. Promising experts are joining us and on top of that we collaborate with the EAAE Education Academy effectively. I believe the collaboration and networking potentials well be strongly empowered with my membership in the EAAE Council. In Ljubljana, 15/7/2018 izr. prof. dr. Tadeja Zupančič

To: EAAE European Association for Architectural Education Support for Tadeja Zupančič in her application to join the EAAE Council Dear colleagues, I would like to support my colleague Tadeja Zupančič to join the EAAE Council. I nominated her to the group of Vice-Deans of our faculty. She is responsible for research, including the docoral programme. Her responsibility builds on her more than twenty years of academic experience and more than ten years of research leadership at our faculty. She has coordinated several international research projects. She is one of the key players of the CA2RE community, developed in association with EAAE. Currently she coordinates the EAAE Research Academy actions (2018-20) and links to the ecaade organisation (president 2018-20) and to the ARENA network (member). I confirm the financial support for the costs of her attendance at the council meetings, approximately 5 times a year. I believe she can fully contribute to the council duties. With kind regards, izr. prof. dr. Matej Blenkuš, Dean of the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Architecture
