Luca DE FRAIA: Deputy Secretary General, ActinAid Italy, Rme Luca De Fraia is the Deputy Secretary General f ActinAid Italia, which he jined in 2002. De Fraia is respnsible fr institutinal relatinships and plicy psitining; ActinAid Italy wrks n ODA and develpment cperatin plicies, fd and wmen s rights. He started the plicy and research natinal prgramme that nw ffers sme well established publicatins, including the annual reprt n Italy s effrts t fight pverty. Since 2012, AA has been develping a dmestic prgramme with the ambitin f supprting lcal cmmunities in asserting their rights in the areas f educatin and equal access t services in an accuntability perspective. ActinAid believes in cuntries that are fully accuntable, dmestically and glbally. De Fraia has been a member f the CONCORD AidWatch wrking grup frm its inceptin in 2006; since then, AidWatch has been publishing the annual EU accuntability reprt that mnitrs ODA quantity and quality acrss the regin. Laura FRIGENTI: Directr, Italian Agency fr Develpment Cperatin, Rme Laura Frigenti was appinted Directr f the newly established Italian Agency fr Develpment Cperatin in January 2016. Befre then she spent ver 20 years in the USA where she held varius psitins at the Wrld Bank and in ther public rganizatins. She jined the Wrld Bank in 1994 and she held several technical and senir manager psitins, including Cuntry Directr fr Central America and the Andean Cuntries, Directr f Strategy and Operatins fr bth Latin America and Caribbean and Africa, Chief f Staff t the President and Directr f the President s Office. During her career, Laura Frigenti designed sme f the Bank s mst innvative prgrams, and was deeply invlved in rganizatinal refrms. After leaving the Wrld Bank in 2014, Laura Frigenti was Vice President fr the Glbal Develpment Practice at InterActin the largest umbrella rganizatin f US NGOs where she dealt extensively with issues related t public/private partnership, transparency and accuntability, and private funding fr develpment. She brings in-depth knwledge and expertise f Africa, Central Asia, Eurpe and Latin America regin, with direct experience in leading the dialgue with plitical and business leaders in ver 30 cuntries. Befre jining the Wrld Bank, she wrked at the Italian Ministry f Freign Affairs, Directrate General fr Develpment Cperatin; the Institut per la Cperazine Ecnmica (ICEPS) where she led the think tank s effrt arund internatinal develpment; the UN Ecnmic Cmmissin fr Latin America & Caribbean in Chile and the Institut di Studi Ital Africani. Gaspar FRONTINI: Head f Unit "Plicy and Cherence", DG DEVCO, Eurpean Cmmissin, Brussels Gaspar Frntini, a Spanish natinal, is Chief Ecnmist in the Directrate General fr Trade f the Eurpean Cmmissin, a respnsibility he has held since 2003. Frmer student f the Paris-based institutin Sciences P, he hlds a PhD in ecnmics frm the French Fndatin Natinale de Sciences Plitiques and has a strng experience in trade and develpment issues. Since 1986 he has ccupied several high level psitins in the Eurpean Cmmissin, wrking fr the Directrate General fr Develpment, where he was amng thers Assistant t the Directr General in 1997 and Head f the Reginal Crdinatin Unit in 2000. He als hlds degrees in Trade Plicy frm Harvard University and in Internatinal Trade Law frm the Cllege f Eurpe. Mr. Frntini is clsely invlved with plicy develpment at the Cmmissin, nt least in the cntext f the nging glbal ecnmic and financial crisis. He is als leading an internal prject that aims t map ut plicy ptins fr the EU's trade plicy during the term f the next Cmmissin (2009 2014), which is due t take ffice befre the end f the year. 4

Mari GIRO: Deputy Minister, Italian Ministry f Freign Affairs and Internatinal Cperatin, Rme Brn in Rme (29th july 1958), Mari Gir has lived in Brussels until he was 15 years ld. He studied in Uccle. In 1984 he graduated in Literature at the Sapienza University (Rme). Member f the Cmmunity f Sant Egidi frm 1975, he participated in varius activities in the field f primary educatin fr pr children in the utskirts f the city f Rme. Since the early 80 s he started his cmmitment t inter-religius dialgue, in particular with regard t the Muslim wrld, and he tk an active part in the rganizatin f the Annual Prayer Meeting fr Peace (since the first Prayer Day held in Assisi in 1986). Since the early 90 s, he wrked in Africa fr the Cmmunity f Sant Egidi especially in Ivry Cast and Camern in the field f Internatinal Relatins and Mediatin fr Peace. Frm 1998 until 2013 he was in charge f the Internatinal Relatins fr the Cmmunity f Sant Egidi, being invlved in several mediatin prcesses, namely in Algeria (1994-5), Ksv (1998-9), between RDC and Burundi (2000), Ivry Cast (2002-2011), Liberia (2004-5), Tg (2003), Darfur (frm 2004), Nrthern Uganda (2006-8), Guinea (2007-11), Niger (2011), Libya (2011), Syria (2012) and Casamance Senegal (2012). In 2010 he was awarded with the Prize fr Preemptive Peace by the Chirac Fundatin. In 2012 he was Cunsellr t the Minister f Internatinal Cperatin and rganized the Internatinal Frum fr Internatinal Cperatin in Milan. In May 2013 he was appinted as Under Secretary f State, with cmpetence fr Latin America, African Cuntries members f the SADC and Cultural prmtin. He was cnfirmed in the same pst in March 2014 by the new Gvernment. In January 2016 was appinted as Vice Ministry f Freign Affairs and Internatinal Cperatin. Ettre GRECO: Directr, Istitut Affari Internazinali (IAI), Rme Ettre Grec is Directr f the IAI and als heads the transatlantic prgram f the institute. He wrked as visiting fellw at the Brkings Institutin frm January 2006 t July 2007. He taught at the universities f Parma and Blgna. Matthias HELBLE: Research Ecnmist, Asian Develpment Bank Institute (ADBI), Tky Matthias Helble is a research ecnmist at ADBI. His research interests include internatinal trade, health, envirnment, and urban ecnmics. His wrk has been published in flagship reprts f internatinal rganizatins such as the Wrld Trade Organizatin's Wrld Trade Reprt, as well as in numerus bks and scientific jurnals, including the Review f Wrld Ecnmics, Kykls, Jurnal f Wrld Trade, Wrld Ecnmy, Health & Place, and the Bulletin f the Wrld Health Organizatin. He then wrked as an ecnmist fr the Wrld Trade Organizatin in the areas f envirnment, climate change, and technical standards. Damien mnitrs and engages in debates n, fr instance, the plitics f EU s aid and trade, plicy cherence fr develpment (PCD), EU s reginal strategies in Africa, and EU-Africa relatins mre generally.
