AM KAISERFORUM An idea reaches for the sky. We were entrusted with the task of reviving the Am Kaiserforum building for sophisticated residences. It was with pleasure that we accepted this challenge of preserving the historical basis and continuing the traditional excellence. Being the architectural companion in the construction and planning team, we designed the high-quality loft maisonettes with admiration of and respect for the work of the architect Ferdinand Fellner the Elder. Our main focus was on creating a spacious atmosphere, ideal light distribution and attractive lines of sight to achieve wide views. Owing to the excellent urban and topographic location, you can enjoy a marvellous view in every direction from the top floors the Museum of Art History, MuseumQuarter, Hofburg and Karlskirche are just a few examples of the numerous eye-catchers. Starting at the rotunda at the corner of Babenbergerstrasse and Nibelungengasse, tranquil, elegant roofscapes were developed with generous terraces. In analogy with the ambiance of the single-floor apartments, the surfaces and materials were defined in line with the Viennese craftsmanship tradition transferring it to the present times. THE LOBBY OF AM KAISERFORUM The grand lobby is one of the most distinctive features of the Am Kaiserforum building. Here, residents as well as guests are welcomed in a representative way. The lobby can be entered from both Nibelungengasse and through a discreet entrance on Babenbergerstrasse. Two historical staircases link the different floors. HISTORY The name Am Kaiserforum literally at the imperial forum hints at the imperial-royal history of the location. In 1870, the architects Gottfried Semper and Carl Hasenauer ventured on a ground-breaking project: By order of Emperor Franz Josef of Austria, the Hofburg ensemble was to be expanded to a complex along the lines of Versailles. Ultimately, only the court museums, a wing of New Hofburg and the stately houses bordering on the monumental museum buildings were ever realised.
