Proposed Ordinance No. 513-84 was presented and read, vacating a portion of a sewer easement in "Maryville Centre Plat One", a subdivision in St. Louis County, Missouri. Mr. Butchko stated that there were no sewers located within the easement to be vacated and that the property owner had granted a new easement. Proposed Ordinance No. 517-84 was presented and read, appropriating $335,000.00 from the Mississippi River Operating Fund to be used for the construction of sanitary sewers, together with repayment of the cost of Engineering, Survey and nspection, and miscellaneous other costs incurred in connection with such construction project, in Mill Creek Relief-Nebraska nterceptor (S-2141, C-1065), in the City of St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Butchko explained that this sanitary sewer project located in the City of St. Louis would be funded 55 percent by the State and 45 percent by MSD. He commented that this project would correct the problems occurring when the Mississippi River is at high level. Mr. Jones inquired as to the low bidder, and if there were any reasons why fewer bids are being received. Mr. Butchko responded that the low bid was $314,046.25, reflecting recent increased bids, and that the reduction in bidders is probably due to the construction industry's saturated market. Proposed Ordinance No. 518-84 was presented and read, confirming a contract with Bommarito Construction Company of St. Louis for the construction of sanitary sewers in Mill Creek Relief-Nebraska nterceptor (S-2141, C-1065), in the City of St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Butchko stated that Bommarito Construction Company of St. Louis was the lowest'of 4 bidders at $314,046.25. The high bid was $600,360.00 and the District's estimate was $270,540.00. He stated that as the bidding on this project had occurred approximately one year after the consulting engineer had prepared the estimate, the low bid was higher than anticipated. Luth & Sons, nc. was the lowest of 5 bidders at $52,677.50. The high bid was $182,950.00 and the District's estimate was $30,496,00. NTRODUCTON OF PROPOSED ORDNANCE NO. 523-84 VACATNG PORTONS OF SEWER EASEMENTS N LOTS 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, AND 10 N LACLEDE ARPORT PARK, N THE CTY OF BERKELEY, ST. LOUS COUNTY, MSSOUR. Proposed Ordinance No. 523-84 was presented and read, vacating portions of sewer easements in Lots 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 in Laclede Airport Park, in the City of Berkeley, St. Louis County, Missouri. Mr. Butchko stated that there are no utilities in the easement to be vacated, and that the vacation had been requested as several lots are being combined into two lots. Motion made by Mr. Borghi, seconded by Mr. Shanahan, that proposed Ordinance No. 523-84 be introduced. NTRODUCTON OF PROPOSED ORDNANCE NO. 524-84 APPROPRATNG $13,400.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE DSTRCT TO BE USED FOR THE CONSTRUCTON OF SANTARY SEWERS, TOGETHER WTH REPAYMENT OF EXPENSES NCURRED BY THE DSTRCT N CONNECTON WTH SUCH CONSTRUCTON.PROJECT KNOWN AS SUBDSTRCT NO. 599 (BARRETT WOODS DRVE), N ST. LOUS COUNTY, MSSOUR. Proposed Ordinance No. 524-84 was'presented and read, appropriating $13,400.00 from the General Fund of the District to be used for the construction of sanitary sewers, together with repayment of expenses incurred by the District in connection with such construction project known as Subdistrict No. 599 (Barrett Woods Drive), in St. Louis County, Missouri. Mr. Brady stated that this was a small private subdistrict consisting of two residences currently served by septic tanks. This sewer project will be funded totally by the property owners and the District will inspect the installation of the sewers and disburse the funds covering the cost. Motion made by Mr. Borghi, seconded by Mr, Jones, that proposed Ordinance No, 524-84 be introduced.

Mr. Kaiser stated that his comments relate to proposed Ordinances 528-84. 529-84 and 530-84 providing for the purchase of the assets of Riverside Sewer Company serving the City of Fenton. He pointed out that this privately owned sewer company had been in bankruptcy and that MSD had been operating the treatment facilities for the City of Fenton since 1981. He stated that the facilities would be purchased by MSD for $310,000.00. Mr. Kaiser then introduced the Mayor of Fenton. Mr. Joe Morgan, and the Attorney for Fenton, Mr. Tom Utterbach, Mayor Morgan and Mr. Utterbach expressed their appreciation to the Board and to Mr, Kaiser for MSD's assistance in resolving this problem for the City of Fenton.
