The special guests of the Strada di Architettura project were: Professor Dietmar Eberle lecturing at the famous ETH in Zurich and Aron Losonczi, the graduate of the Royal University of Fine Arts in Stockholm, who patented transparent concrete in 2001, later improving it (samples of transparent concrete were also presented at Budma). Strada di Architettura also means numerous exhibitions of modern architecture as well as presentation of interesting innovative products allowing for implementation of visions unfulfilled so far, oriented towards professionals of architecture and design sector. An important item on the agenda of Strada di Architettura was the debate of architects and investors Relationship between the value of architecture and the value of real estate. The meeting, initiated by the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland, was a public attempt aimed at defining of current correlations between the quality of architecture and real estate economics, but also the discussion on common responsibility for contribution of investment activity to development of human living environment. The news from the IT world, involving technology supporting design could be watched in the special space called Archispace, where training within the Academy of Effective Design was also provided, with consulting points enabling contact with construction sector producers.

The exhibition and the programme of events focused on presentation of the latest solutions everything to make the Poznań construction fair play active role in setting directions for development of construction, constituting effective platform for exhibitors to promote their innovative products, and for visitors to provide them with the biggest and most complementary presentation of construction technology of the future. Budma also means many interactive special exhibitions, shows and workshops. Within the BUDSHOW 2012 exhibition, the eco_logical house of the future was constructed a modern house distinguished by low factors of embeded energy (used for production of building materials), end energy (used for heating of the interior and heating of utility water) as well as primary energy which the building absorbs from the environment. For the third time, the Forum of Energy Efficient and Passive Construction was held at Budma. During the two-days block of seminars, problems of sustainable architecture, modern materials and technology were discussed, as well as examples of passive construction implemented in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Numerous changes in the formula are related not only to the refreshed image of the medal, but above all to the whole package of unique benefits offered to its winners. The main innovation is a much earlier date of choosing the winners. The list of products awarded with the Gold Medal has already been known several weeks before the fair. This enabled the MTP a pre-fair promotion of the winners in the media, newsletters for professionals, as well as on the Internet on the special Gold Medal website and on the product websites. Wide ranging promotional campaign of the winners is also planned during and after the fair. A Gold Medal winner receives a medallist package - a set of promotional materials to be used in his promotional campaign: Gold Medal, logo, press releases, press advertising template of a MTP Gold Medal Winner and video and photos from the awards gala. Products awarded the Gold Medal are presented at an exclusive stand located in the centre of the fair exhibition - Champions' Zone. Another novelty is a competition Gold Medal - Consumers' Choice. Professionals have an opportunity to vote on Internet and in the Champions' Zone for the best product from among the Gold Medal winners of the given trade fair event. Quality guarantee of the awarded products is the prestigious jury involving experts from the industries represented at the fair.

Promotional campaign The promotional activities we carried out focused mainly on acquiring of four groups of visitors, whose presence on the trade fair meant the most significant benefits for exhibitors: architects, representatives of general contractors and large general construction companies, investors and distributors of building materials (commercial chains, building wholesalers and building markets). During the last year we acquired bases among the above-mentioned groups amounting to the total of 70,000 records among which 19,000 records cover foreign companies from the following countries: Germany, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria. In total, in our resources we currently hold databases of professionals of construction market amounting to over approximately 150,000 addresses. On addition, among the databases kept, we separated about 2,000 VIP Clients. They include key representatives of the main visitors groups who are treated with particular care and attention, and offered additional benefits (assistance in travel and accommodation arrangements, catering on the trade fair premises, invitation to business evening). The most promising foreign markets for our exhibitors are located in the east. Therefore, we concentrated major part of our activities there: we were acquiring databases of professionals, we facilitated visa formalities (for guests from Ukraine) and we cooperated with our agents as well as Departments of Investment Trade and Promotion of Embassies of Poland in the countries of Eastern Europe. We were reaching the key groups of visitors both directly through the BTL activities : telemarketing, e-mailing and mailshots informing of the trade fair and inviting to participate, magazine Budma NEWS (issue of 20,000 copies in three language versions Polish, English and Russian), as well as through chambers and associations and via media the national advertising campaign in professional press (cooperation with 22 specialised construction magazines), on Internet (cooperation with 19 trade portals), radio and televisions. We emitted 117,000 of complimentary invitations to visit the fair, which were distributed among potential visitors. Budma 2013 Intelligent architecture The next, twenty second edition of International Construction Fair Budma will be held from 29 January to 1 February 2013, under the slogan Construction of the Future Intelligent Architecture. ============================================================= The future of construction is the general use of ultramodern, energy efficient technologies and materials stemming from space laboratories. It also means intelligent systems of building design and control. One may argue whether buildings have their soul. However, their intelligence is increasing difficult to undermine. BUDMA 2013. Intelligent architecture.
