Syllabus Principles of Architecture and Construction Overview This one-semester elective course is intended as a practical, hands-on guide to help you explore careers in architecture and construction, and identify what knowledge and skills you will need for success in these jobs. This course comprises 15 lessons and 5 Activities. Each lesson contains one or more Activities. The lessons cover the following broad topics in architecture and construction: careers in architecture an construction important concepts in architecture applications of physics and chemistry in construction construction materials the stages of construction projects and the tasks they involve safety, legal, and environmental issues construction equipment management, teamwork, and professionalism communication skills You will submit the documents to your teacher, and you will grade your work in the Activities by comparing them with sample responses. Each lesson also has a multiple-choice mastery test. A multiple-choice end-of-semester test completes the course. The Activities (submitted to the teacher) and the Activities (self-checked) are major components of this course. They will guide your learning as you work through this course. Prerequisite Skills Principles of Architecture and Construction is a beginner's course and does not have specific prerequisites.
