What a wonderful Christmas party/dinner we had. Mega thanks to Jennie Wigle and her wonderful committee. There will be a change in the meeting time. As of our January 3 rd. meeting, the doors will be open at 5:45 p.m. The meeting will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. IF there is a reason to cancel a meeting, I will post it in an e-mail and on Facebook. I will also try to get it on television by 4:30 p.m. As we start a new year, I am pleased to let you know that our Vice President René Harbison has planned more fantastic programs. Pink Ribbon Projects Patty Kuriscak, Linda Goodine, and Judy Klusek Returned at the December meeting: Pillows: 21 sewn Hats: 28 Total 6 were fleece and 22 knitted hats Thank You s to: Judy Klusek for her tireless work on all the hat and pillow tags needed recently!!! Charles Rhodes for sewing the 6 fleece hats mentioned above. Emma Hofmeyer for sewing 15 of the 21 pillows mentioned above!! Immanuel Lutheran in Tonawanda (Linda Smyth s church) for knitting 22 adult and 2 infant hats. June Roetzer for delivering hats to the American Cancer Society and pillows and hats to: CCS Oncology in Williamsville, Roswell Park site in Williamsville, Buffalo Medical Group, and CCS Oncology at Kenmore Mercy (Harbour Medical). Note: Kits for the comfort pillows and chemo hats are available at all regular meetings. If anyone needs kits at other times, please call or email Patty Kuriscak or Linda Goodine; and we will deliver them to you. Double Note: Two outside groups have volunteered to stuff pillows (one in January and one in February); so if you have pillow kits at home, please sew them up and return at our Jan. or Feb. meeting. Final date forthcoming Feb. 7 meeting Saturday, Feb. 24th Dorothy Glosser will be doing needle turn applique. Her patterns will be $5.00 each. If possible, please bring a light box with your 2 contrasting fat quarters, heat and bond light, hand sewing needles, sharp scissors, fine point marker if fabric is dark, or frixion pen if fabric is light, neutral thread, and ruler. Also, bring your own lunch. Dorothy will have a sign-up sheet.
