Following dinner and fellowship, new member Fred Alls was inducted by chapter president Jay Joyce, as Fred's son, current chapter Color Guard Commander Dave Alls, assisted in the ceremony. Four chapter members were then honored with the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal for their continued community service through various civic and community organizations, Neil Hohmann, Ken Luckey, Dave Alls and Bill Anderson. The night's feature presentation was delivered by 20-year SAR member and WWII veteran Tom Burgess. Tom's presentation shared many photos from his collection of service in Germany as he and his Third Army Division moved across Europe. "I was 17 years old and part of the 87th Infantry Division fighting in France and Belgium, then eventually crossing into Germany," said Burgess. "My unit was one of the first to arrive in the town of Plauen, which was nearly destroyed by bombs." Tom served as an Infantryman fighting in the "Battle of the Bulge" and others.
