Description Cleish Castle is a rare property being a wonderful family home which is practical for modern day living housed within the walls of an historic building dating from the 15th Century. The current owners bought the property in 1993 as a family home for their four children and, having renovated and extended the property during their ownership, are now downsizing. A feature of the woodland is an impressive Yew Walk. To the north of the Castle is a kitchen garden and a family maze. Outbuildings and Tennis Court To the north of the Castle is a range of outbuildings that comprise stabling, a large garden shed, studio and wood store. The buildings are flexible and could be adapted to a variety of uses. To the rear of the outbuildings is a tarmacadam tennis court in need of restoration. Paddocks To the south of Cleish Castle are two paddocks, extending to about 4 acres, suitable for horses. In recent years, the paddocks have been let for livestock. Adjacent to the north drive is a further small paddock with a hen house and run. Forester s Cottage Lying to the southern boundary of the Cleish Castle policies is a former cottage with a lovely southerly outlook. Planning permission was granted in the late 1980s to reconstruct and extend the cottage but no work was undertaken so the consent has now lapsed. There is a track to the cottage which would require upgrading but, subject to the necessary consents, it could be developed into an additional dwelling.
