Property Cheveney Place is a substantial modern family home occupying a large plot and constructed by award winning Millwood Designer Homes in 2001. This individually designed property offers light and well-proportioned accommodation which has been very well-maintined and is arranged over two floors. The ground floor fearures an impressive entrance hall with cloakroom, stairs rising to the first floor and doors leading to the generous lounge with Inglenook fireplace and doors to a delightful double glazed conservatory overlooking the gardens. There is a study, separate dining room, open-plan kitchen/family room which is the hub of the home plus there is a utility room. On the first floor, there is a master bedroom with a modern en-suite shower room, a guest bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, three further bedrooms and a family bathroom. The property stands in impressive and beautifully landscaped gardens with established trees, shrubs and hedging. There is a large patio area ideal for outside dining and entertaining and a summerhouse. There are mature landscaped gardens at the front with a large gravel driveway leading to the larger than average double garage. Chantry Park is a quiet and select development on the outskirts of the village. Ideally located for access to the Cathedral City of Canterbury, which is renowned for its excellent private and public schools and universities. Canterbury also offers high-speed rail links to London St. Pancras taking less than an hour. Thanet coastal towns and Westwood Cross Shopping Centre are all easily accessible. There are good road links to London and the motorway network via the A299 Thanet Way and the M2 Motorway.
Our Time Here We were living in Canterbury when we first saw news of this Millwood Designer Homes development in The Telegraph, and decided to take a look even though we had no plans to move at the time. On finding out more about the unique design of the houses here and a drive into the site, we knew we had to have one! One thing we really liked about the development is that the houses are all individual and Chantry Park has an almost village-like charm with a pond in the middle. There is a lovely, but not intrusive community and residents get-together a few times a year for barbecues in the summer and carols with mulled wine and mince pies at Christmas time. The whole house has a spacious feel, and is large enough for a big family with room to spare! Our favourite part of the house has to be the kitchen/family room, which features a vaulted ceiling and plenty of space for everyone to spend time together. It s the hub of family life in many respects, especially now that we have grandchildren visiting too! That being said, we also have a sizeable dining room, when we have enjoyed numerous Christmases and dinner parties over the years, as well as a separate lounge and lovely conservatory that looks out over the garden. The location is very good for access to schools; locally there is a well-respected primary school at St. Nicholas-at-Wade and a selection of secondary, grammar and private schools in Canterbury, which is just 7 ½ miles from the property. We find that it s an accessible position for shopping and transport links, and travelling to London is very easy. This is a big house but very comfortable, warm and easy to look after. The space has worked very well for us and it has been a very difficult decision for us to move, but we would now like to be closer to our children and grandchildren.
