Alfred Cruz the VP for Operations, in cooperation with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Council of Santiago Norte, headed by their SK Chairman Mr. Jonathan Javier, conducted a FEEDING PROGRAM at Santiago Elementary School, Santiago Norte, San Fernando, La Union on September 29, 2018. The program objective is to extend a helping hand to selected indigent children by providing meals and giving school supplies which will aid the students in their studies. It may just be a simple program but to the children, it means a lot, and being part of this activity is truly an honor. UAPLU will handle the Motorcade which marks the start of the celebration, UAPGA will handle the Infographics Competition that promotes architecture in the community, and UAPSA will handle the Architecture Inspired Fashion Show. The awarding ceremony for the winners of the Infographics competition as well as the Architecture Inspired Fashion Show was held at the Social Center of Saint Louis College, San Fernando, La Union on October 1, 2018. The author of the Fashion Show was none other than Arch. Rossano Baradi, UAP Chair By-laws, Past President of UAPLU and the UAPSA adviser of SLC. To Kickoff the start of the celebration of World Architecture Day 2018, UAP-LU with the assistance of UAPSA (Student Auxiliary) and UAPGA (Graduate Auxiliary), organized a Motorcade. The Assembly Area of the Motorcade is at Saint Louis College Grounds at Lingsat, San Fernando, La Union and the route is towards downtown area of San Fernando until Monumento at Sevilla, then Diversion road northbound back to the school grounds. The objective of the activity is to promote the Architecture Profession to the community and to show that we are proud of our profession. Architects play a major role in the community and this is one way of saying that we are needed to create a better world, in line with this year s WAD theme. Contractors from the province, Foremen and especially Tuberos or Plumbers are the main guests of the seminar. The seminar s goal was to improve the participants knowledge about PPR pipes and its methods of construction compared with PVC Pipes and to promote the sponsor s PPR piping products. There was also a raffle wherein every participant has a chance to win equipments like the fusion machine and the grand prize which is a mountain bike. This is a good seminar especially for our plumbers because it broadens their technical know-how and shows that they too are important not only the contractors.
