A unique events space unparalleled in Central London Retaining the features and character of an imposing industrial space, the building began life as an electricity generating station in 1896. E, p u l v e r e, l u x, e t, v i s, From Dust Comes Light and power is the translation of the Latin motto on the front of our building. Shoreditch Electric Light Station was a product of late Victorian ingenuity and enterprise. The individual studios are available to hire throughout the year, providing flexible and affordable space for artistic companies and business clients alike.

1 combustion Chamber At an imposing 25m long and almost 18 m high this is the largest of the spaces available. Pillarless construction creates an unrestricted floor space with excellent sight lines. Access and adaptability make this an ideal environment for a range of configurations from conference hall to catwalk.

2 Generating Chamber Another large space with a 280 sq m floor area the chamber retains some of the period industrial features of the building s former life as a power station. Exposed red brick creates a warm atmosphere complimented by natural light. Again the freestanding roof allows all of the floor space to be used.

3 Top Studio The smallest of our hire spaces located on the second floor south facing aspect of the building overlooking Hoxton Market. The room has excellent natural light and is suitable for studio based photography and as an additional space for larger hires. 4 Middle Studio A small to medium sized room ideal as additional space for larger hires. The rigging points, exposed brickwork and lighting conditions make this a versitle studio and a popular choice for photo shoots. 5 6 upper Link Studio A medium sized space suitable for a variety of uses from a reception and meeting area, press suite or breakout space for larger hire events. Strong natural light is provided by a bank of windows that overlook the private courtyard. lower link studio An open spacious room that links the Generating Chamber and the Combustion Chamber. Large double doors open out into the courtyard. The room has a polished wooden floor and recessed lighting in the ceiling. Ideal as a hospitality area for events in the Generating Chamber and Combustion Chamber, or as a breakout space. 7 CReation Studio This large studio space is situated in a modern, architecturally designed annex and can be accessed from the main building as well as a separate entrance on Bowling Green Walk. The studio has multiple rigging points, a semi sprung floor, ceiling mounted lighting bars and floor to ceiling mirrors. Exceptional natural light is provided by the large windows, and the space can be easily adapted to full or semi blackout. The Creation Studio is a modern multi-purpose facility suitable for conferences, auditions, photo shoots and rehearsals. Bowling Green Walk entrance + OFFICE SPACE The Energy Centre has a number of bright, contemporary workspaces which are available on fixed term lease contracts. Accessible seven days a week, the units are on the first and second floors of a brand new building and are fully accessible with fully maintained toilets and kitchen facilities, phone and ISDN connections, private letterboxes and entry buzzers.
