THURSDAY 10/11 9:00AM Craig Fox, LC MIES - ETC Echo and Code Compliance As the Northeast Architectural Regional Manager for ETC, Craig spends a great deal of time educating and providing AIA/CES/LEU credits to Engineers, Architects and Consultants. Craig helps to work out systems and solve interesting design challenges while continuing to make sure even the most demanding control projects function as intended, even if they include dimmable LED fixtures. Prior to joining ETC in 2009, Craig held positions as the Director of Project Management for a prominent NYC-based Architectural design firm, Senior Project Manager with a nationally recognized Systems Integrator, and spent a number of years as the Technical Supervisor/Operations & Logistics Manager for a large touring show. Deb Zawodny - Shedding Light on Healthcare Design Deb Zawodny has over 30 years of experience in the lighting industry and currently works as a Business Development and Sales Manager for New Star Lighting, focusing on Healthcare, Cleanroom and custom lighting solutions. Prior to joining New Star, she spent twelve years with a manufacturer of complex environment and general lighting and controls products holding regional Specification Sales Management positions for Architectural Interior Ambient (products) and for Industrial and Complex Environments. These roles included increased levels of responsibility as a company healthcare specialist, and ultimately appointment to Market Development Manager, Healthcare and Cleanroom. In other roles has Deb worked for major and niche lighting manufacturers as a regional and national sales manager, at one time serving as manager of Acuity s Jim H. McClung Lighting Center. Her experience also includes sales and service roles in electrical distribution and a Manufacturer s Rep Agency for Lighting and Controls. She has presented lighting topics at national, local and regional IES, AIA, ASHE and Electrical Association meetings and conferences. A member of IES, she serves on the IES Healthcare Committee. Chris Kreuter - LED Lighting Designs for Architecture - RGB Color Changing and Color Tunable Solutions Chris Kreuter is a lighting industry veteran with over 35 years of experience in sales and marketing of lighting products. He has owned a lighting agency, he has worked as a regional sales manager, he was a digital lighting product manager, and for the past 5 years he has been the VP of Sales and Marketing for Insight Lighting, a leader in the development of architectural LED lighting products. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a BS degree in Psychology.

Stashik, PE, FIES, LEED AP - Circadian Justified and Calculated for Well-Buildings Sandra develops and manages collaborative partnerships with key specification customers, works with agents to support their specifiers and to promote new architectural products. Sandra received a degree in Architectural Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. Following her completion she worked for 30 years in architectural lighting design, developing designs for both interior and exterior projects including; corporate offices, retail, educational facilities, campus master plans, bridges and streetscapes. Prior to joining Acuity, she was a Principal in a Philadelphia based lighting design firm, Grenald Waldron Associates, with projects worldwide. Sandra is a Fellow of the Illuminating Engineering Society and serves on the Progress Committee and the Lighting for Outdoor Public Spaces Committee. She also served on the IES Technical Review Council and Distinguished Service Award and Fellows Committees. Stashik is also an affiliate member of the IALD and a member Lighting Industry Resource Council. Stashik is a registered Professional Engineer and LEED AP. She has given presentations throughout the country and Canada, at Lightfair, for IES Conferences, DOE LED Conference and AIA Conference. Leon Hermans, MSEE - Emergency Lighting Solutions & Applications Leon Hermans holds an Masters and Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a principal of Low Voltage Systems Inc. (LVS Inc.) and has over a decade of experience in lighting controls and emergency lighting. Leon is directly oversees product development and engineering of LVS emergency lighting solutions including emergency lighting inverters, UL924 bypass relays, UL1008 transfer switches and load shedding controls. He has served on numerous UL task groups related to emergency lighting controls including the BCELTS and UL924/NEC2017 Emergency Lighting Control groups. Dave Brown - Better Lighting Through Controls Dave Brown has more than 20 years experience in the lighting industry including 18 years with Finelite. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, Mr. Brown worked for an architectural firm before pursuing graduate studies in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University. His lighting career started in 1991 when he began designing for The Lighting Practice in Philadelphia. In 1995 he joined Penn Lighting Associates in Philadelphia as a specification sales agent and in 2000 he joined Finelite in 2000 as a Regional Sales Manager. Promoted to the executive level in 2002, Mr. Brown has conducted hundreds of AIAaccredited courses across the U.S. and is a highly regarded public speaker.
THURSDAY 10/11-1:00PM Jim McGrath - Tunable White Lighting & SolarSync Jim McGrath, Executive Director Lighting Controls Specifications at Crestron Electronics, is a 30-year veteran of the lighting controls industry and an instrumental part of both product design and business development. His current duties include working with specification engineers on lighting control solutions to meet or exceed today s stringent energy codes. In addition, Mr. McGrath runs the specification training program for Electrical Engineers and Lighting Designers. Mr. McGrath has a BSEE degree from Newark College of Engineering. Danielle Volpe - Rethinking Light, Design + Human Experience in a Solid State world of LEDs A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology Architectural Interiors Program with an emphasis in lighting and electrical engineering, Danielle began her career in New York City as an architectural lighting designer at the firm of Schwinghammer Lighting. More recently Danielle held the position of senior specification sales associate at Specification Lighting Sales and has been involved in assisting the lighting design and architectural communities for the last seven years. While at Specification Lighting Sales, Danielle had the opportunity to collaborate with several New York City lighting design firms including Brian Orter Lighting Design, Tillotson, HLW, Fisher Marantz Stone Partners and others. Tom Ward, LC, IES Member Emeritus, LEED AP: ID+C - Advanced Lighting and User Designed Controls for Modern Classroom Tom Ward has more than 30 years experience in the lighting industry including over 20 years with Finelite. Mr. Ward has participated with the New York City School Construction Authority to develop best practices for relighting existing city classrooms and with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to demonstrate a template for classroom lighting that is affordable, flexible, and consistent with LEEDs for Schools and CHPS-NY. Mr. Ward has presented hundreds of seminars on lighting and energy efficiency, LED technology, and lighting for the aging eye, and has developed several AIA-accredited courses. Mr. Ward strives to help customers light effectively and comfortably using sustainable practices.
THURSDAY 10/11 3:00PM Pete Shannin - Light for Satisfaction (Daylighting) Pete Shannin is an industry executive with deep experience in a variety of lighting businesses featuring LED, OLED, lighting controls and daylighting through merger and acquisition and strategic planning activities. Currently he is the Vice-President and General Manager for Sunoptics Skylights and Daylighting Systems. Acuity offers leading holistic daylighting systems to provide superior lighting quality while optimizing energy efficiency leveraging advanced daylighting, lighting and lighting control. Most recently, Pete has been featured in numerous articles promoting the benefits of daylighting in terms of energy efficiency and occupant well-being. Mark D Ambrosio - Preferred Light Mark D Ambrosio is a Project Electrical Engineer and has been with Focal Point since 2016. In this capacity, he focuses on new product development including quality of light and advanced controls initiatives. Mark holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University. Bret Middleton - Acuity Contractor Select: Solutions for Renovation and Retrofitting Bret boasts 19 years experience in lighting. He has worked not only on the technical end of the industry, but also in energy and renovation. His current role with Acuity as a brands construction solution manager has allowed him to work closely with installers and distributors.

He has been with Acuity Brands for 8 years and is a graduate of Lafayette College. Chad Sudderberg - The Resurgence of Indirect Lighting. Why a Once Popular Form of Lighting Fell Out of Favor and What s Driving Its Comeback. Chad Sudderberg started his lighting career in 1993 in his family-owned lamp restoration and shade shop. Over the 15 years he managed the company, it became a prodigious lighting showroom in Toledo, Ohio. In that role, he expanded his expertise in lighting design, a missing element in many construction projects at the time. By immersing himself in all things related to lighting, he learned effective lighting design and helped his residential and commercial clients realize what they didn t even know they needed: lighting that could help make a space both multi-functional and comfortable. In the decade since, he s expanded his industry knowledge even further by representing independent lighting manufacturers as both a regional and national sales manager. Mr. Sudderberg currently manages SPI Lighting s East Coast relationships. He attended the University of Toledo and has a BFA in Ceramics and Sculpture John Haartje - Linear Lighting Frenzy John Haartje has a long history with lighting. He spent 11 years as a consulting engineer before moving into the manufacturing side of lighting with both conglomerates and independent manufacturers before transitioning into the agency sector of the industry for 7 years. The last 8 years have been spent with Prudential Lighting, a hallmark independent lighting manufacturer of the architectural lighting world. John is a graduate of Purdue University.
