Two indigenous (Quechua) boys who were walking home (2 hours) from their Saturday high school lessons went 1.5 hours out of their way to help her. She was touched by their gracious help and their passion when they spoke about the importance of education. Pam didn t realize that the gentle yet strong Kichwa (Quechua) spirit was about to change the direction of her life. Since she first happened upon this community high in the Andes, Pam has worked to improve the quality of life for the Kichwa by working collaboratively with Rotary and Engineers Without Borders.
