DUBAI The world s fourth most visited city hosted 14.2 million inbound visitors in 2015 that generated $11.7 billion in sales to maintain its position as the second most important international shopping destination for the fifth consecutive year. In the run up to the World Expo, Dubai has in place a comprehensive plan to attract 20 million visitors by 2020 and is expected to outperform its global peers to achieve retail sales of $52 billion, for an average annual growth rate in excess of 8%. A city of 2.5 million residents with an expected population growth rate of 4.7% per annum to 2030, Dubai is a vibrant, young city with 63% of the population between the ages of 25 and 44. Home to approximately 57% of international retailers, Dubai has some of the best quality retail facilities and amenities in the world and continues to attract the top brands from Europe, the US and Asia.
