New/Renewal/Modified: New 5. Duration: Perpetual 6. Benefits to Martin County: Provide modern electric service to Martin County Airport 7. Cost to Martin County: Minimum recording costs The existing hanger numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8 at SJC are currently being served with 3 phase 120/240 volt power service by FPL. The service is not adequate for operation of ground power units and other aircraft electrical devices. Electrical modifications to replacement equipment are no longer a viable option and 3-phase 480 volt power is required. The upgrade in power will allow for smaller service wires and breaker sizes while drawing less electrical current. The balance of the airport is currently served by 3-phase 480 volt electric service. FPL requires that the County grant a utility easement prior to installation of the new power lines and transformer. ISSUES: None. RECOMMENDED ACTION: RECOMMENDATION Grant the attached Utility Easement to FPL and authorize the Chair to execute all documents necessary. ALTERNATIVE RECOMMENDATIONS None.
