A NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICE SPACE ON 3RD AVE. N! Back in 2005, business owner Jim Rowland purchased an old building in the downtown Loft District for his growing employee benefits company and was bitten by the renovation bug! Now he s taken on a MUCH bigger project, the historic three-story, 21,000 squarefoot Massey Business College Building (located at 2024 3rd Ave N.). And we couldn t be more excited about the development! Rowland is investing about $1,000,000 to renovate the building for executive office space. When completed, the third floor will include up to 18 individual offices and open work spaces capable of housing up to 90 workers, with two conference rooms and a full kitchen. Leases on the office spaces will be available in the $500 range with flexible terms. The second floor and mezzanine are also available for lease and can be built to suit. Awesome, right? For many years, the building housed the Alabama Department of Revenue. Roland s crew has stripped the government-issued sheet rock to reveal attractive brick walls, high ceilings and steel beams, but the most exciting features are the floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides of the building. There s also an airy, open feel to the space and stunning views of the historic buildings across the street. Rowland expects to be ready for tenants by the end of 2016. REV s Fran Godchaux provided assistance in untangling ownership issues with the previous owners. We wish you the best of luck in your endeavors, Jim! (And we re SURE the end result will be nothing less than beautiful!)
