Lee Meyer and Associates Savannah Neighborhood Action Project I architectural drawings Descriptive Summary Repository: Georgia Historical Society Creator: Lee Meyer and Associates, Architects and Planners. Title: Lee Meyer and Associates Savannah Neighborhood Action Project I architectural drawings Dates: 1871-1982 Extent: 0.1 cubic feet (1 roll) Identification: MS 2553 Biographical/Historical Note Lee Meyer and Associates, Architects and Planners of Savannah was an architecture firm working in the areas of higher education, civic, commercial, residential and historic preservation architecture. The firm's principal, Lee J. Meyer, began practicing architecture in Georgia in 1966. Scope and Content Note This collection consists of 95 pages of architectural plans for renovations of existing houses within the Victorian District in Savannah, Georgia, drawn by Lee Meyer and Associates, Architects and Planners of Savannah. These buildings were renovated as a part of the Savannah Neighborhood Action Project I, otherwise known as S.N.A.P. I, in an effort to improve low-income housing and revitalize the area. The Victorian District of Savannah consists of 162 acres, 45 square blocks, and 800 buildings constructed from 1870-1910. Buildings that were a part of the S.N.A.P. I rehabilitation project numbered upwards of 100 units. The Savannah Neighborhood Action Project was a partnership between for-profit groups and the nonprofit Savannah Landmark Rehabilitation Project. The 100 units were subsidized by the Housing and Urban Development Division. The plans for the buildings include basic existing floor plans, proposed floor plans with details for renovations, scanned exterior images of the buildings, site plans, some plan revisions, and detailed final floor plans of the renovations that were completed. These plans were drawn up by Lee Meyer and Associates, Architects and Planners under Project NO. GA-06-A001-012/061-35342-PM-PAH-SR-L8.
